Get Scrooged This December

Son of Scrooged Winter CSAUP Challenge
Son of Scrooged is F3 Naperville's Annual Winter Running and Rucking Challenge

December 1st to December 30th, 2024

In 1843 Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol. The story of Ebeneezer Scrooge,a selfish old miser, who is visited by 3 ghosts who by “leaving no man behind…” EH’d Scrooge with an extra strong Shield Lock, transforming this classic sad clown into an iron-sharpened, generous, and jolly HIGH IMPACT MAN of Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith.

This holiday season, F3 Naperville will be visited by 3 CSAUP’s to do much of the same…

The Script

The purpose of these CSAUP’s is to build more of a 🛡 Shield Lock 🛡 presence through “small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership” within F3 Naperville during the holiday season while accelerating in all 3 F’s.

Create Shield Lock Teams of 6 PAX

Come up with your own F3 Holiday Team name. Two ways teams are created:

  1. Create Your Own Team (Highly encouraged!!!)
  2. Enter Your Name Into the Random Team Generator and we will place you on a team

This CSAUP begins Friday, December 1st and runs to Saturday, December 30th.

All activity must be recorded via Strava. Please connect your Strava via the Registration Link.

Keeping Score

We will have a running Dashboard through the month to highlight who is leading between the 3 CSAUP’s. I.E. Fastest mile time, most # of Rucks, etc. Recognition will be granted to individuals as well as the team. Keep in mind, the primary purpose here is to focus on building your team and Shield Lock, winning from within the PAX, not just winning on performance. You don’t have to do all the events below but you should be doing them together as much as possible.

One post = one point for total runs if you run, or ruck if you ruck at F3 Naperville AO run or ruck clubs.

The Dashboard will recognize the 3 CSAUP Challenges in the following ways:

Ghost of Christmas Past

The Frosty

Entire Team of 6 PAX must ruck 6 Miles minimum and make a stop at 2 local restaurants, breweries, coffee shops or other various eating, drinking establishments.

The 3 CSAUP's

#1 Ghost of Christmas Past – The Frosty

Entire Team of 6 PAX must ruck 6 Miles minimum and make a stop at 2 local restaurants, breweries, coffee shops or other various eating, drinking establishments. You must purchase something at each stop to support local business during the holiday season. Maybe you put some bucks together and buy a random family a meal or some people a few drinks on YOU. Do NOT post pics of you with patrons. That’s not what this is about. Grab a hot chocolate, coffee, donut, a frosty brew, or any other dude food…have fun with this and make some memories boys. We will vote on the most “spirited” Team Ruck put together at the end of the month. Feel free to share pics of your journey in Slack, just not pictures with patrons. Cheers!

#2 The Ghost of Christmas Present – The Rudolph

On-going posts at Run or Ruck Clubs, improve your time, distance, and # of posts. Please feel free to bring a new, unwrapped Toy to any Run or Ruck Club to support Wide Right’s Toy Drive. Site Q’s can help deliver your donated toy by December 5th.

#3 The Ghost of Christmas Future – The Nutcracker

This is 16-ish miles traveled Ragnar Style with AMRAP’s of PT. You can run it or ruck it or both.

  • There are 6 nuts to crack. Nut 1 and Nut 6 must be done together as a team. The rest of the nuts need to be broken up into groups of 3 guys MINIMUM on your team.
  • All 6 teammates must complete the 3 PT stations at Nut 2, 3, and 4
  • Example: All 6 PAX complete Nut 1 together then 3 PAX run the 2.5 miles to Springbrook while the other 3 PAX drive to Spring brook and wait for them. All 6 PAX meet at Springbrook to complete the PT together. Then 3 more PAX run to the Outpost for Nut 3. Carry on with the rest below until you finish as a team at DT.
  • It’s up to the team to decide who is running…or rucking…along the way. I.E. You might have someone run all 16 miles or so and only one guy does a 2.5 mile run to Spring brook. You HIM’s figure out who’s cracking what nut and how many.
  • Breakdown
    • Nut 1 – Start at Dark Tower
      • Carry a Coupon, Ruck Sack or Sandbag (30# min) up and down the hill from the sidewalk and back = 1 rep. Make sure you go from the sidewalk at the river, up the hill, to where we plant the DT flags. It’s sidewalk to sidewalk, not sidewalk to top of hill. Do this for 5 reps.
    • Nut 2 – Run to Springbrook Forest Preserve Parking Lot (2.5 Miles)
      • Do chest presses with a standard coupon (As many reps as possible in 2 minutes)
Do these in Parking Lot off Plainfield-Naperville Road
    • Nut 3 – Run to The Outpost (3.5 Miles)
      • Do coupon squats with a standard coupon (As many reps as possible in 2 minutes)
    • Nut 4 – Run to The Complex (4.5 Miles)
      • Do Blockees with a standard coupon (As many reps as possible in 2 minutes)
    • Nut 5 – Run back to Dark Tower
      • (5.5 Miles)
    • Nut 6 – End at Dark Tower
      • Carry a Coupon, Ruck Sack or Sandbag (30# min) up and down the hill from the sidewalk and back = 1 rep. Make sure you go from the sidewalk at the river, up the hill, to where we plant the DT flags. It’s sidewalk to sidewalk, not sidewalk to top of hill. Do this for 5 reps.
  • 16 Miles Total or so with 3 AMRAP PT Stations
    • We will recognize who completes this entire 16 miles with PT for Time Individually, as a Team, and who does the most chest press, squats, and blockies too. Maps and suggested routes below. Must have a picture of you at each nut.
    • Your team will also be recognized for simply completing The Nutcracker.
    • Again, the option to Ruck this vs Run at any point is open.

What happens when we die? What does that mean in how we live our life today?

Time to get your teams formed and light the cigar before it’s too late…
