- You ever lie in bed at night thinking to yourself things like:
- I wonder how many lbs in coupons and/or sand bags I can lift…
- I wonder if I had a team of 4 fellow PAX how much we could lift as a group…
- Where would I stack up against other PAX in the region in some kind of lifting competition?
- Does Chaps EVER stop talking?
- Where would my home AO stack up in some kind of lifting competition?
- Where would my region rank in some kind of lifting competition?
In July 2023 28 PAX took on a Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless (CSAUP) Lift-A-Thon Challenge. It’s kind of like the 10,000 lbs. moved from Lincoln Games except amped up to an eleven.
Here is how the LIFT-A-THON Challenged worked
- A Team of up to 4 PAX Completed any 2 exercises daily from a list of 10 exercises from July 10-28, 2023. Monday-Friday. 15 days.
- Once a PAX completed the lift, it’s off the table until the following week. EXAMPLE: A PAX logged a 10K chest press on Tuesday, and the couldn’t log another chest press until the following Monday or after.
- PAX were going for 10,000 lbs, 20,000 lbs, or 30,000 lbs per exercise for the point equivalent. Pax had the option of spreading the 20,000 lbs or the 30,000 lbs for a lift workout throughout the day but had to complete 10,000 lbs in one try. EXAMPLE: On Tuesday you can lift 10,000 lbs of Rows at 4:50 AM, 10,000 lbs Rows at 12:00 PM and 10,000 lbs of Rows at 4:42 PM.
The 10 Workouts That Where Tracked:
- Chest Press
- Row
- Curls
- Skull Crushers
- Squats
- Coupon Swings
- Overhead Press
- One Arm Rows
- Thrusters
- Running
- There IS a running option as well, run 2 miles for 10,000 pts, 4 miles for 20,000, and 6 miles for 30,000 pts. The run points can be counted once a week. But like the other exercises could be split up through out the day. EXAMPLE: 2 miles before a post, after a post, and later in the day.”
Here is some of the fine print the 28 PAX had to follow:
- Lifts and runs need to be completed as EC before or after a post. They can be completed throughout the day.
- You can only record two workouts a day. EXAMPLE: 1 Lift and a run or Two lifts. The maximum a Pax can earn is 900,000 points over the 15 days. That’s two workouts a day earning 30,000 points each workout.
- All activity from a PAX needs to be recorded ALL AT ONCE in the Google Survey tracker that was provided the day of. EXAMPLE: If you complete a 10K Skull crusher and a 20K curl on Thursday, you have until 11:59 PM to record the workout in the tracker.
