Introduction
Yikes!!!
For turning 42 years young, I really know how to turn it up a notch. The gents of F3 Naperville were excited and full of uncertainty rolling into the AO. I guess that’s a reasonable reaction when I inform them the night before that their cost of admission for this Birthday BEAT DOWN will require (2) coupons each 🙂
Warm-O-Rama
SSH IC -25-
3 Bur-pees OYO
Mosey with (2) coupons farmers carry midway to are starting point to the “thang” below.
Goof Balls IC -20-
Split the 25 Pax into (2) groups. Group (1) was instructed to Farmer Carry both coupons to Station-1. Group (2) was instructed to Farmers Carry both coupons to Station -12. Both stations were only 50-60- apart from each other.
The Thang
Was to put the PAX thru 12 stations of pain. Each station was clearly marked with a flag. Each station had (2) exercises to complete. The total combined Reps at each station was 42. Why 42? Cause I was born 42 years ago silly….. I informed the Pax that these reps are combined, “we are not doing 42 reps of each exercise. We are doing both exercises for a Max Rep of 42. You may do them in any combination 21 & 21, 14 & 28 whatever you decided. Only Caveat! One of the exercise must be at least 10 Reps!!!”
The Pax were informed of the following (Imagine Stern Drill Sergeant Military Voice Of The Following)
- Gentlemen we don’t get up for Easy!
- This 12 station coarse is meant to challenge you!
- We will not be dogging it! We will be RED lining the entire time!
- If you choose to Dog-it! You will be penalized! and that Penalty is Bur-pees, If you think your going to jog this coarse and don’t complete all 12 stations then that is on you! Just understand each station missed = 3 bur-pees each. You miss 5 stations then you owe the piper 15 Bur-pees 😉
- By the way…… At this point I am sure you are wondering why you have brought (2) Coupons to this party?!? Well that is because you will need to take them with you the entire length of the 12 station coarse. Only one rule!!! You must complete the exercise at the station, then take one coupon to the next station (drop if off) Run back to the previous station retrieve your 2nd coupon and bring it forward to your next station. Consider it a coupon suicide…. Once you have completed the travelings of both coupons from previous station to the next, then and only then can you begin your next exercises posted at that station.
Pax were given a Countdown from 5 and both groups began. Again, Group one started at station 1 and proceeded to station 2 and so forth. Group 2 started at station 12 and proceed to station 11. This kept each group limited and distance apart. Most of us met at station 6 & 7.
Side Note: Group 1 Pax had a slightly more difficult beginning as the first 4 stations were up and over the hill.

I felt the need to show my appreciation to the PAX members that attend my birthday Q. That said I recited a previous COT message I gave at my very first Q. It’s a little long winded but I feel it comes from the Heart.
Men!
It’s sometimes hard to thank someone for giving me the freedom to live the life God has so graciously given to me.
Before F3 I lived the life of mediocrity! I followed instead of lead! I’ve quit before I have started, I’ve committed but never went and god knows I’ve cheated to get ahead!
My thanks is to all of you! Thank you for everything you do, Thank you for rising before the sun and volunteering your time to embrace the SUCK of the beatdowns F3 certainly delivers day In, and day out, to make us better HIM’s.
For this I am forever grateful as your participation is a beacon of belief that this group, all of F3 Naperville and for what we stand for! Fitness-Fellowship-Faith. This is bigger than me, it’s bigger then all of you! It is truly something special. Embrace it MEN it is your code and credo now!
Weather you all realize it or not you have given up so much for this group, and I personally believe that this is something that cannot be repaid.
Most men I know, believe life is about waking up, hitting their 8-5, returning home, turning on their favorite show, ignoring their kids and letting their Wife handle the rest while they snuggle up to the couch and that ever so familiar indent left from previous visits.
I think this applies to none of you! I recognize the selflessness you’ve all have demonstrated with your willingness to serve this group with your commitment to stay healthy, engage fellow HIMs and deliver a helping hand when others are In need without the ever familiar “what’s in it for me” mentally I see too often outside of this group!
Thank you all, for your hard work and your dedication. It is no secret that your training, or any part to being a HIM is easy. This past Nov 23rd I was EH’d by Urkel! His approach was in-depth, precise and motivating to say the least. However! Don’t tell him…. but he had me at “don’t make it weird bro, ITS FREE”
Prior to posting 3 days later I had my reservations and I always knew it was going to be hard, but I never realized how much it really was until Bedpan enforced a Dora beatdown up the ridge hill! That had me dry heaving just before COT with just enough recovery time to to be named Bobby Fischer. It was then I knew I have found a family away from family!
Thank you for your bravery, strength, hard work, commitment, dedication and willingness to do the hard things that are required of you ITG day in and day out.
You’ve given up your mornings to show up ITG, and set an example for the FNG’s. This is something I don’t take lightly for I was once an FNG scared, cold and confused on why the hell i’m up at this time, layered to the hilt, slinging a cinder block around a school parking lot wondering to myself hmmm….. “not sure if this is a good look” for the innocent bystander.
But then again who am I kidding, no one in their sane mind would be up this early to witness this madness unless they lived our CREDO. You all are cut from a different cloth my friends! I’m proud of you men and it was an honor to lead you for my Birthday-Q and many more Q’s to come.
Let’s pray for the many who need them and the many who are effected by their circumstances.
Naked Man Moleskin
The PAX did awesome! I believe at least 21 out of 25 finished the 12 stations of pain with little time to spare. The others gave it a valiant effort but came up short not do to their physical abilities but more do to their existing injuries that still hamper them from giving 100%
For that reason alone and recognizing their willingness to try, no Penalty Burr-pees were give 🙂
