For this Q, I am going to give shout outs to some of the most memorable Q’s from my first year.
1. Muggsy…first Black Diamond – 25 thrusters in cadence, 50 big boys (5:25)
2. Uncle Rico…Day 1 of Lincoln Games – Run to cafe, BOMBS – 5 blockees, 10 overhead press, 15 merkins, 20 Bonnie Blair’s, 25 side straddle hops (5:30)
3. Blues Clues…Lincoln Games captain – Grab a partner, one does 10 pull-ups, while the other does 100 dips, 100 curls (5:35)
4. Harbaugh…the most brutal form of running! – Leave coupons, Prisoner Indian Run from Cafe to Amphitheatre (5:38)
5. Wide Right…my first post in F3 – Line up – merkin shuffle across first step, straight arm shuffle across third step (5:42)
6. Road Trip…pushed me harder than anyone to run faster and harder – Grab a partner of similar speed, race back to the coupons, loser does 5 penalty burpees (5:45)
7. Clearcoat…some of the hardest posts I’ve done, especially the soul sucking F324 Q – partners – one guy does Murder Bunnies up the hill and cusack carry down, other partner does 100 skull crushers, 150 chest press, 200 coupon swings (5:55)
Mary
Glenn…EHed me and introduced me to one of my favorite exercises – Captain Thors w/ coupon (1 big boy to 4 American hammers)
Circle of Trust
COT: Starting F3 has been one of the best things I ever did for myself. Huge shout out to Glenn for EHing me! Every single one of you here has had an impact on me whether you know it or not.
Gotta give a few more shout outs though:
-Glenn and Sparkler continued to push me into Black Diamonds despite every excuse I could think of to give them. By the end of the year I completed a BD5
-Blues Clues, my captain for Lincoln Games, motivated me so hard to do 4-5 workouts every day to earn some imaginary points!
-TPS Report for getting me to do Ragnar last year. One of my favorite events of the year!
-Goldberg for socially engineering me at a party to workout for 24 hours straight. Looking back I still have no idea how I survived that!
-Laimbeer and Road Trip for pushing me on running so hard that they got me to complete a marathon after I swore them off forever, 10 years ago.
All of you motivate me. Remember that motivation comes in a lot of different ways, not just vocal. It could be a really good, memorable Q. It could be pushing to do an extracurricular event. It could just be your really good form that another PAX silently admires. It could be a call out on slack. Whatever it is, keep motivating and pushing each other.
Naked Man Moleskin
It’s been a little bit since I’ve Q’ed. Not since my La Luz Q at the beginning of January. Training for the marathon and injuries have held me back. As a result, I was more nervous for this one than usual. But it felt really good and timing worked out well.
