As opposed to my previous Qs where I agonize a bit over COT, I didn’t have anything prepared today

Jefferson Junior High has a special place in my heart and wanted see what feelings came to me today.  I noticed a mural in the window with a rainbow and the words  “friends are friends forever”.  I met some of best friends at Jefferson and some that I still talk to today.  But most importantly, this is where I met my wife in 6th grade.

The window next to the mural drew my attention.  My 8th grade math class was in that room.  Looking back, the math teacher, Mr Richardson, really went out of his way to push me to enjoy math and excel at it.  I remember the McDonalds lunches he would provide for students that did well in his class.  I thought that was really cool and he didn’t have do that.  Looking back, there were a lot of teachers at Jefferson that had a big impact on me and went out of their way to push me.

I don’t think we really appreciate the impact we can have on other’s lives every day.  We may never get a thank you but the impact is there.  Just a great reminder to look to help people and leave a positive impact on them.  And be friendly to everyone…you never know who will end up being a great friend or your wife!

Naked Man Moleskin

This has been a really tough year on me mentally and this has been exceptionally hard.  I deal with a lot of the problems at work and need to do it with a positive attitude.  But it is draining. By the end of my COT, I was exhausted…kinda hit me like wave.  Maybe the emotions of going down memory lane.  Maybe the weight of a long year.  Maybe I just kicked my own ass with the workout.

I really appreciate the 8 PAX that came out today.  My good friend Parks and Rec drove the 30 minutes out from Oswego…seing him always puts a smile on my face.  As do the other 7 other PAX…what a great group of guys.  I’m lucky to have met them and be part of this group.

Looking forward to having 2 weeks off to recharge and get ready for 2021!
