Introduction

Solstice party at Iron Lion. Sacrifices will be made.  No coupons (nor clothes?) required for this pagan ritual.

Warm-O-Rama

  • Motivators from 7

The Thang

  • Indian run w/ hammer pass
    • Get in two buses (lines) – a Fast bus and a medium-paced bus
      • Hand a ‘Solstice Stick’ (sledge hammer) to each back seat driver
      • Indian run to High school wall – wall sit for the 6
  • Wall sits
    • Wall Sits competition – when you break, you lunge down the parking lot
  • Get to the base of BH hill – sprint!
  • At the hill – Partner up (2 PAX):
    • PAX 1: Bernie sanders (backwards) up the hill, fast
    • PAX 2: does hand release merkins at bottom until his partner gets back
    • Rinse and Repeat 3 times for EACH PAX up the hill
  • Sprint up to top of Hill – RACE!
  • Get back in same busses – with Indian run thru parking lots, all the way to pull up bars on far south end of Iron Lion
  • Back to same partners (2 PAX):
    • PAX 1: Pull up bar as many reps as you can, switch grips after 6 reps (under/over hand)
    • PAX 2: karaoke (side shuffle w/ alternating legs) down to lighted cones, facing same way come back
    • Rinse and Repeat 3 times for EACH PAX down the field (karaoke)
  • [Opted out due to time] Team Tire drag sprint race around parking lot  – two tires w ropes,  all out sprint around parking lot loop
  • “Solstice Sacrifice at the altar” – Circle of PAX, 2 PAX in middle, 3 hits PER ARM with sledgehammer – then call out a PAX to take your place
    • Hold plank on the edges of the circle, rotating positions as we go
  • Short Mary: American Hammers in cadence (30 count)
  • Finished with 90 seconds of stretching – down dog, child’s pose, stargazers

Circle of Trust

Feels like we’re collectively experiencing another ‘gut punch’ in this whole two year pandemic with latest COVID swings.  This unending experience of ‘Loss’.  Some have had much more than a punch- there’s real struggle going on, and I know it’s affected many in our community. I’ve personally been feeling like an observer, a passenger, being directed & pushed around by life at times …reacting to it….need to get back to be a driver. I picked up a book recently called Man’s Search for Meaning – by Victor Frankl.  Holocaust prisoner and survivor.  His message: Even when everything else is taken away, you always have Choice.  You always get to choose how you respond to life’s challenges, and joys.  There will be many of both.  Out of that choice, you get to (and have the Responsibility to) assign meaning.
So when we experience Loss like this latest gut punch…you get to choose.
F3 is perfectly set up to push us all back into a driver seat and make this Choice. Doesn’t have to mean everything, just pick one thing. One thing you own and drive into the new year.  Get behind the wheel – your family and community will thank you

House Arrest earned a detention for talking during Mr. Nice Guy’s announcements.  3rd detention this month, so a note went home.
