Introduction

Let’s run.

Warm-O-Rama

it was a beautiful day in the gloom. YHC arrived early to scope out the situation.

0515 sharp we began

    1. Welcome, 5CP, Disc were all given
    2. Side-straddle hops IC x 43
    3. Mountain climbers IC x 20
    4. Imperial Walkers x 20
    5. Count off & group up into two teams
    6. Mosey over to tennis courts

The Thang

SIKE!

Turns out the tennis courts were locked. Are they always locked? I could have sworn I’ve seen them open before…anyway, we quickly adjusted and moved across the street to NCentral’s parking lot. It had two rows of parking spaces that gave us our “loops”

Thang 1

    1. Inverse Indian runs
    2. Teams ran around the parking lot spaces in a loop about the size of a tennis court
    3. Front man sprints around the court until they catch up w/ the line
    4. We ran until each PAX had sprinted 3X
** team 2 did 4 sprints each since they had fewer runners

Thang 2

    1. Captain Thor up to 10:40 big boys:American Hammers
      1. 1:4 ratio, big boys sit-ups & American Hammers
    2. 100’s x 10
    3. 100’s x 10

Thang 3

    1. Indian Run down & back Hillside road (~1mile)
    2. this left just enough time for….

10 Minutes of Mayhem! (a Big GONG special ; )

    1. Freddie Mercurys IC til failure
    2. Crunchy frog IC till failure
    3. Heels to Heaven x 10
    4. 5 more Captain Thor’s just for fun

By this time it was 0559 and my Site Q, the illustrious Slumlord, was about to have a heart attack since we were no where near the flags. So, YHC called an all out sprint back to the flags. I think F3 has a name for this but I can’t find it…anyway, it’s your typical “last-man-back says grace” kind of thing.

A few PAX made it back in time; a few didn’t…

Circle of Trust

I heard something on the podcast that made me rethink how I lead a CoT.

Like iron sharpens Iron, so we men can sharpen each other. Not just physically, like during the work out, but also spiritually. This is the power of the CoT. Most times I think I need to give advice during the CoT. What I heard on the podcast, though, suggested that the CoT is great for sharing and building connections among PAX. How much sharing is done if I hold the mic the whole time?

So today, instead of pushing something out, I asked if PAX would give something into the CoT: a praise, prayer request, or just a personal update. PAX were more than willing to share, and I felt like it was a great moment to build some connection with these PAX. I hope to do this more often to build up our sharing in CoT.
