Introduction
It has been a rough start to the week at work. Maybe your situation is a lot like mine. What better way to break through the frustration then to lift heavy objects over and over again!
If you’re having work problems I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems, but this coupon aint one!
Warm-O-Rama
- SSHs – 20 IC
- Good Mornings – 10 IC
- Imperial Walkers – 20 IC
- 60 seconds of stretching on your own
The Thang
We moved to the pavilion for the start of the thang. Each round of the beatdown included 3 exercises each done for 11 reps each for 3 rounds (to equal 99 total reps). We moved through these a lot faster than I planned, so there was a lot of improvising today.
Round 1:
- Coupon Swings
- Picnic Table Step Ups
- Overhead Press
- ONCE YOU’RE DONE – HOLD PLANK UNTIL THE 6 IS IN
We took a short mosey over to the playground
Round 2:
- SSHs
- Mountain Climbers (each leg = 1/2)
- Pull-Ups or Squats
- ONCE YOU’RE DONE – HOLD PLANK UNTIL THE 6 IS IN
We took a short mosey back over to the pavilion
Round 3:
- Curls
- Scorpion Dry Docks
- Bent Over Rows
- ONCE YOU’RE DONE – WALL SIT (until you’re told to stop…60 seconds after the 6 was in)
Round 4:
- Chest Press
- Skull Crushers
- Merkins
- ONCE YOU’RE DONE – HOLD PLANK UNTIL THE 6 IS IN
Round 5: This was improvised since we were ahead of time!
- Dips (picked by Judge Smails)
- Alpos (picked by DJ Sump Pump)
- Olympic Push Ups (picked by Munson) – These are both awkward and difficult
Round 6: A REPEAT OF ROUND ONE
Round 7: A REPEAT OF ROUND THREE
When the clock hit 5:55, we moved back to the flags for MARY

Name-A-Rama
As I described in my pre-blast, this beatdown was inspired by a stressful start of the week at work. It is great to have an opportunity to de-stress a bit and lift a heavy object over and over again. Yet I’m also reminded about the importance of slowing down and remembering everything that is GOOD in my life – not just getting caught up in the stress of work. I don’t know what faith means to you or where you find hope, but I draw strength from JESUS. The Bible tells me over and over again to SLOW DOWN, to BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD. When I step out of the stress, I am better able to see all of the good stuff of life. You may have 99 problems at work, at home, or in some other area of life…but there is still good to be found.
We wrapped up with prayer, giving special attention to pray for Toasted Coconut after his knee injury.
