Introduction

Leading my VQ we incorporated as much of the park as possible to keep to the run interesting and challenging using 5 stations.  Each station variations, utilized a differing surface, at various paces allowing for maximum challenge, maximum fun and maximum man sweat.

Each Station was given a Froo Froo name while the whole Pax realized they’d have to embrace the suck!

Circle of Trust

I gave the Pax an update on what’s been going in my mind, as I’ve progressed through work outs, drawn from other COTs and just reflected in general.

Reflecting on how doubt creeps into the mind as well as negative thoughts and how I’ve been working to constantly shift those thoughts out of the mind when I am recognizing they are trying to creep in. The fact that we naturally compare ourselves to others, but realistically, we should only be competing with ourselves and working to move forward positively, for ourselves, for our loved ones, for those in our circles.

I attended another AO earlier this week where the Q made a tough decision recently to step backing from coaching to spend more time with his family, to strengthen that bond. I have reflected on the fact that I too, can spread myself thin sometimes, too often saying yes when I should say no, or how I need to consciously scale back on what/ or how much I am involved in. As many of them are volunteer activities, that although they do provide a benefit to many others in the community, perhaps I can step back and let the others take the lead or become involved, as it does take time away from specifically my family, and the kiddos are getting older now and the time with them is getting even more limited as the days pass.

From that, I also discussed the importance of not only saying NO, but accepting when someone else says NO. The fact that we neither need to provide a reason as to why we said NO, but we too, should not seek any clarification as to why somebody may be telling us NO. The two simple letters N and O are enough, and we simply move on to the next opportunity to ask something of someone, and accept with their Yes or No.

Lastly, the fact that since I joined for my first Post only about a month or go, that I have appreciated the inclusion, felt part of the group since day one, learned A LOT and the fact that I look forward to starting many days at an AO, because it starts my day off correct, I feel good refreshed, and I too am not sacrificing any family time as they’re all typically sound asleep when I get back home.

Naked Man Moleskin

For my VQ I definitely enjoyed leading the Run Club. I have admitted many times out loud to many members of the Pax, that I do not care for running despite having a “runners build” but the group makes it easy and enjoyable and my spin on the stations and Froo Froo names keeps it interesting for myself, as well as, (based on feedback) the whole Pax.

I’ve got a few things to work on in the cadence for Warm-O-Ramas and Cool Downs, but all and all, I enjoying Q-ing and look forward to my next Q which will be a Bootcamp.
