Introduction
The Chad 1000x is a Hero WOD that was put together to honor Chad Wilkinson, a Navy Seal who took his life on October 29, 2018 due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast wave injuries and PTSD. The goal of this challenge is to honor Chad’s life and legacy and raise awareness for suicide prevention.
Two weeks ago, Fargo kicked off the Chad 1000X training plan with the Week 1 workout. The Chad 1000x was put together by the CrossFit Games Director in 2018 after learning about Chad’s mountain climbing training. It’s been tough to squeeze in the other 3 workouts with everything else that we’ve been up to. I wanted to keep the training going, so I signed up to Q a couple of ruck clubs the next few weeks. Oh yeah, that first workout was a pretty solid beatdown, so I was pretty sure week two would be fun too.
Let’s see what happened this morning…
Warm-O-Rama
- High Knees In Cadence x 15
- Tappy Taps In Cadence x 10
- Squats (Downs called) x 10
- Abe Vigodas In Cadence x 10
- Goof Balls In Cadence x 25
The Thang
Thang 1:
5 minute Step-Ups
1 minute Rest
4 minute Step-Ups
1 minute Rest
3 minute Step-Ups
1 minute Rest
3 minute Step-Ups
*YHC made an error the night before when programing the workout into my app and we only did 1 minute of step-ups for the last exercise in Thang 1.
Thang 2:
5 sets of
– 10 Lateral Lunge Steps / Cossack Squats (these squats are pretty tough, google them, you might want to add them to a future Q)
– 10 Sit-Ups
– 10 Flutter Kicks
Then 400m Lunge Walk Unweighted
*A quarter mile of lunges ain’t nothing easy.
Thang 3:
200 Step-Ups for Time
*Time ran out before we could finish Thang 3. I recall a few guys say that they got about 50-60 step-ups before it was 6. No time for Mary.
Circle of Trust
We are all blessed with a beautiful morning to get stronger together. We thanked God for these things. We asked for prayers for all of those that are suffering from this pandemic. It has impacted all of us in different ways. Physically, mentally, and spiritually. We asked for prayers to help us battle all of these things. We prayed for all of those that are battling various illnesses, the men in F3 Nation and all others throughout the world. Amen.

It was great to see a couple of new faces at “Ruck Club” this morning. Hopefully, they will come back out and join us for another Ruck Club Monday. I’ve been trying to get the word out that the workouts that we do can often be done without a ruck. Weighted vests and cinderblocks are good substitutes. I encourage more guys to step out of their comfort zones and join us for a rucking good time.
