Grab a partner and hit the path for a run around the lake. Be back by 555. With a small group we paired up – me and Milton, Crabgrass and Cupcake and Toady and Sweet Gherkins.

All logged 3 – 4 miles

Naked Man Moleskin

I read a verse I read recently that I like and believe to be worthy of sharing with my brothers here.

1 Corinthians 9: 24 – 27

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the game goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize”

Any bible verse that talks about running, I love.  I know it’s not simply talking about physical running but I like the parallels it has to running the race of life as a Christian.  Let’s not run around aimlessly – like many in society do – but lets run with purpose.  It reminds us that just as we train in the gloom for Ragnar races and Spartan Races and other physical events and goals we have, let’s make sure that same intention we bring towards training carries over to our Christian life and in all things we do.
