Mosey to turf field

First 50 yards, lengthen your stride as far as you can. Pump your arms to gain momentum (50% effort)

Next 50 yards run at 80% effort.

Repeat cycle 3 times.

Then a casual mosey around the lit cones (roughly 300 yards)

Then all pax run for the next 25 min at their own personal pace to gain whatever mileage they would like.

Mosey back to flags and CoT

My final was 3.31 miles in total

Circle of Trust

CoT today is about a book I am currently reading called “How to Begin” by Michael Bungay Stanier.

One thing I really took from 75 hard was a daily reading habit, that I encourage everyone to do. This current book focuses on goals and HOW to set them and then work towards them. Goals should have three main elements.

Your goals should be THRILLING (how can you make a goal exciting in some way that will keep you engaged?) it should be IMPORTANT ( something that will provide value . . . even if its just for you) and it should be DAUNTING (If your goals dont scare you a bit, then you should set your sights higher). I signed up for Ragnar this fall, and im scared as hell about doing it. But I am not going to FAIL TO TRY and achieve my goal.

Dont be afraid of not achieving all your goals . . . but definitely be afraid of not trying to reach them in the first place. LFG

Naked Man Moleskin

Fun group this morning!

My hatred of distance running is well documented. Im just not built for it. But im trying to bust through that perception of it and at least TRY to get better. Thank you to the HIMs that joined me today.

  • BOB ROSS- Thank you for coming, and I am glad you are OK. That planter area needs a tree in it so others dont get hurt. Thank you for your support and attendance today!
  • Chicklets- Heckuva week so far huh? Three days in a row, with not easy workouts is a bear of a way to start. Huge props for sticking with it and pushing through!
  • Blinky- That achillies injury sucks my friend. I hope it heals soon, and you can get back to destroying everyone on runs day after day.
  • Cable Guy- Another guy that shares my distain for distance running! At least the turf field was easy on the joints . . .
  • Mellencamp- Fast as hell . . . jeez. Coming out the day after your birthday is true dedication my friend. Appreciate you coming when you had every right in the world to rest after your birthday.
  • Kapusta- Great meeting you today! Jeez . . . only 28 years old?
  • Cousin Eddie- We debated just taking off ASAP once we saw your car.  . . but decided to stay. Seriously though . . . maybe a new alarm clock?
  • Blues Clues- Heck, this was probably too easy for the marathon man and First F leader, but I appreciate your attendance all the same brother. Cant wait to see what you have in store this year!
  • Radio Flyer- Fantastic job handing the 6 as always! It took real grit to agree to be the run club site Q, but you took on the challenge. I’ll keep trying to find that extra gear you have hiding down deep . . .  😉
