Introduction

There’s something about Holy Hill and then there’s something a little extra about Holy Hill heading into the winter…

Just five days before Christmas, the air is clear and crisp pre five bells for set up. The light of that cross atop the hill commands a mile plus radius. The light within today’s PAX commands much more.

This is a special place to get better.

  • Run up the hill (50 Yards), do 10 Merkins, run down the hill (50 Yards)
    • Repeat 10 times OYO (100 Merkins)
      • Repeat another 10 times OYO but add 10 Merkins at bottom of Hill (200 Merkins)
        • Repeat another 10 times OYO but add 10 Burpees at bottom of Hill (100 Merkins + 100 Burpees)

Circle of Trust

I recently been watching a documentary on the History Channel called Jesus – His Life. The doc basically chronicles about 8 people who influenced the life of Jesus in many ways, some more positively than others.

It starts out with Mary and Joseph and by the 2nd episode it gets to John the Baptist. Jesus and John the Baptist were buddies, cousins, homies, etc…this was basically the beginning of the first shield lock for Jesus. Then, one day, King Herod had John the Baptist killed.

This crushed Jesus deeply.

However, upon find out this news, instead of retaliating, instead of going back to kill King Herod, instead of starting a war or anything like that…what did Jesus do? He came up with the Lord’s Prayer instead.

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen”

I know there are many times when I receive certain news, my initial reaction is to react hard, to retaliate especially if the news is hurtful, to fight back, etc. However, I also know of a better man who chose to react differently above.

I know these are the challenging moments myself and perhaps some of you can dig a bit deeper and be a better man.

So, I leave you with this today gentlemen. There’s a quote my dad gave to me back in 2008 as I was going through some life transformation back then as well and it read as this:

“In my life, I will never fully know God. I just want to know God better.”

It’s the week of Christmas. Let’s celebrate the birth of Jesus. Let’s act in better ways. Let’s become better men. And let’s get to know our God better too.

This will deliver us from evil and into a life much better lived.

Shout out to Urkel for keeping us extra on top of knowing when to modify…modify when you’re injured, otherwise seek and push yourself to that pain as much as possible. That’s where the growth is…oh…and keep that form on those squats. Drop straight down, keep the chest up, back up, and eyes to the sky, like you got a bar bell on your back boys. No back bendy’s.
