Introduction

Preblast – “To paraphrase Buddy the Elf, ‘The best way to spread Christmas cheer is getting swole with everyone here!’ Bring your COUPON and we’ll get stronger together. Plan for the parking lot AND the snow. We will move a bit and stay warm.”

I was a little worried when the HCs weren’t coming in very quickly. Was it going to just be me and Title IX in a “Rocky on the beach” montage? BUT the guys of BP came rolling in with their commitments as we hit the evening hours.

As temperatures continue to drop this time of year, the name of the game is MINIMAL SET-UP when it comes to Qing – less time spent in the cold and the wind. All I needed to do was put down some cones and we were ready to go.

When the clock hit 5:15, the Core Principles were shared, the Disclaimer was given, the Mission was articulated, and the Credo was proclaimed.

Let’s get to work!

MOSEY WITH YOUR COUPON BACK TO THE PARKING LOT

Thang 2: Parking Lot Ladder (cones set-up 15-20 yards apart)

Partner up! Partner 1 farmer carries 2 coupons to the first set of cones, and runs back. Partner 2 runs to the coupons, farmer carries them to the next set of cones, and runs back. Continue this pattern across the parking lot, and then ladder back down to the start. When you are waiting for your partner, alternate between side straddle hops and big boy sit ups.

Circle of Trust

A count was taken (9). Announcements were given. The BAG OF FUN prize was awarded to T-Dub. Name-O-Rama was completed. Gotta love a Wednesday at THE Black Panther!

CoT – I had two things I wanted to share with the guys this morning.

  • Step Up – As we get into these cold days, it is easy to pull back on the momentum we’ve been building through F3. It is easier to skip workouts, and definitely easy to neglect the Q SignUp. This is often a season when the same guys are stepping up to fill the need because no one else will. Let’s break from tradition and not lose momentum in the cold.
  • Remember – On Friday, homeless shelters around the country (like the one I work for at 360 Youth Services) hold a “Day of Remembrance” for those who lost their lives due to homelessness in the last year. As Friday is the longest night of the year, it is meant to remind us of the work that still needs to be done. With the holidays upon us, and the calendar turning pages very soon, it is easy to be caught up in the busyness and miss the opportunity to help and to remember those around us who are in need. I encouraged the pax (and you if you’re still reading this) to take time on Friday – or any day – to take a moment of prayer/reflection/good vibes for those who are homeless and for those who lost their lives because of a completely solvable issue in our society.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thank you Title IX for the excellent Site Q work. This “dream team” chapter is coming to a close soon as you wrap up your term as Wednesday Site Q next month. We appreciate you!

I don’t have the stats to back this up, but today may have been one of the longest weekday Coffeeteria sessions in the history of Black Panther. So many topics of conversation. Things got a little spicy and disagreements were had, but the brotherhood remains.

Until next time – keep up the fight!
