Introduction
@channel PreBlast Early Iron Lion Saturday
5:15 AM 🦁
Remember back in grade school when a teacher would have to leave class so they put a student in charge and all hell broke loose? This is exactly how EIL works. It’s like leadership had to leave the class only instead of leaving a responsible adult in charge, they told @Nacho Libre to keep an eye on things!
I know it’s early on a Saturday but all I ever hear is that we don’t get up for easy. Well, I promise hard work AND ridiculousness. It’s a MF’ing win win. Coupons (shoulders will be protected – chests and arms won’t), shoes for a little parking lot running, and your best damn mumblechatter.
HC 👇 for starting a weekend better than you thought possible.

Circle of Trust
Last night, my basketball team won a big game on a last second shot. As exciting as it was, what I will remember most about the game is what the opposing coach said to me before we even started. We were chatting during warm-ups and he asked me what type of defense we ran. I told him that we were strictly man-to-man and he responded with, “We only run man too. I’d rather lose running man than win playing zone.”
I’m not saying he’s right about man to man vs zone (though personally I totally agree with him). What struck me about this comment was that he was choosing to do the right thing instead of the thing that would give him the best chance to win. Seems like a pretty simple equation, do what is right and the rest should work out. Though simple, it’s a hell of a lot of work to actually do. I challenge each of us, when faced with a difficult situation, to simply do what we know is right. We may not come up with the W that night but the world will be a better place in the long run.
Naked Man Moleskin
The patients were running the asylum today, Boys! It felt like a field trip only your cool uncle with a scar and a flask in his coat pocket was the chaperone.
We moseyed 3 times! That might be a record for a Nacho Libre workout but, to be fair, I was desperately just trying to stay warm.
The energy was at 11 this morning. We had the perfect mix of EIL regulars (Sputnik, Cousin Eddie, Cable Guy, Backdraft, Mia Hamm) coupled with some great new blood (Wide Right, Rain Man, Ronda Rousey, Face Plant, and Bjorn). I did miss Daisy though. He’s like my blanky at EIL, just makes you feel comfortable. And by comfortable, I mean comfortable with the fact that he’ll push you to your breaking point with sprints and merkins and you end up feeling great about yourself for not throwing up during it.
Mumblechatter was outstanding and highly inappropriate. The Face Plant laugh is like a siren’s call, you can’t help but want to get near it.
Think about the last set of partner exercises (big boys, gas pumps) in Thang 2 now imagine each person is facing each other while doing them very close to one another. This is the EIL scissor! It was not planned at all but slowly dawned on us as we were doing them. Seems like a good exercise to include in Chazz’s annual June 9th workout.
I started my usual “do it right, good form” nonsense but quickly scrapped it. The group out there today does things the right way, no shortcuts.
Thank you, Men. That was a tremendous start to the weekend.
