The Thang
Set up 6 coupons in a line in the municipal parking garage, each approximately 15 yards apart; Run to each coupon and complete 2 blockees; once PAX makes it through all 6 coupons (12 blockees in total), run to start of line and complete 20 Crabcakes; Once done with crabcakes, run to first coupon and complete 2 thrusters (12x in total); once done with all thrusters, run to start of line and complete 20 more crabcakes; next time through was with 2 squats (12 in total). Once all pax were done, we Mozy to the Indigo parking garage.
Casually ran up to stairwell to the 5th floor of parking garage; once all Pax were there, completed 10 mountain merkins. Walked back down to bottom. 2nd time up, one pax started and the next one in line tried to catch him (essentially a sprint up to the 5th floor); once all pax completed, 10 more mountain merkins.
Mozied back to municipal parking garage and went through the 6 coupon circuit again (no crabcakes this time).
Mozied back to Indigo garage stairwell; this time, we tried to step on each step all the way up. Once all pax completed and made it to 5th floor, 10 more mountain merkins. Walked back down and mozied back to municipal garage.
Completed bicep curl pyramid (partner does 12 curls; once completed, other partner completes 12 curls; once completed, first partner does 11, etc. all the way down to 1 rep). Once done with Bicep curls, did a chest press pyramid starting with 12 reps.
Finished with a 1 minute plank, American Hammers IC x 15; left the last minute to stretch.
Circle of Trust
Shared a story about a neighbor that was throwing trash into my front yard out of spite. Went through a lot of emotions during that period including anger, resentment and retribution. A neighbor suggested I pray for the perpetrator. Discovered through that process that prayer helped me forgive this guy; even though he continued to throw trash in my yard. The prayers helped me overcome the anger, resentment and retribution. It was a great opportunity to see the power of prayer in action…and he stopped throwing trash in my yard!
Naked Man Moleskin
Made a big deal of the weather and it ended up being a bust. Oh well, the municipal parking garage is a great place to work out and protected us from the elements. Love the Late Start program for a couple of reasons, including the extra sleep time in the morning and the different perspective during the workout (finish when its light out). However, my favorite part is the smaller group of Pax that attends as it provides a different feel to the workout. There is a fun kinship that forms when there are fewer Pax; lots of mumble chatter, trash talking and most importantly, you feel like a small family pushing each other. Big groups are great for different reasons but I really have come to enjoy the smaller group atmosphere.
Thanks for Columbus and Snots for showing up and double tapping. Really respect the heck out of these two Pax for their work ethic, support and camaraderie; without fail, they always show up for my Q’s! Thanks gents!
Thanks to Debbie for making it 4 (or was it 3?) weeks in a row! Love getting to know you bro and thanks for making that long trip from the southside of the Ville.
Thanks to Bjorn for making his first LS appearance; love working out with this guy as he’s in great shape but has such a cool/calm demeanor and is fun to be around…also, hat tip for keeping us quiet on the 5th floor so we didn’t wake up the guests in the hotel.
Finally, thanks to Sweet Marla Hooch for having my 6, sharing ideas the night before and keeping me in line; really enjoy the camaraderie with the Hooch and have learned a lot from his Q’s; you never know where you are going to end up on a Hooch Q and I love that.
