Introduction
It is very rare when I agree with Wide Right. That guy is wrong on so many levels that it feels dirty agreeing with him.
But I agree that we have allowed ourselves to get a little too complacent and soft with extra sports workouts and not enough hard BCs, especially on weekends.
So that ends . . . at least when I am Qing. (Thats ok . . . most of y’all are scared to attend my Qs anyways. π
I had to radically change my plan on the fly when we found out that the 630 ruckers were doing a ruck event on the hill. After a very tense “West Side Story” situation where Dingo and Radio Flyer started snapping their fingers anticipating a dance off, we just used the side of the field by the parking lot. Crisis averted

Arm Circles
The Thang
Progressive muscle overload.
Divide into two groups, then pick a partner from the other team.
THANG.
- We did partner/failure exercises. Thats where you do a quick set of an exercise, then your partner does the same number, then you do it again, until someone taps out or when I say we stop.
- Curls, coupon squats, skull crushers, sit down squats, overhead press, lat pull overs, offset merkins on coupon, shrugs, etc.
- Focus was on FORM versus speed.
After each exercise we alternated between
- Braveheart coupon throws up the hill
- Tire drag races
Finish with Mary
Circle of Trust
CoT was based on a quote by Frederick Douglass
“It is easier to build strong children that to repair broken men”
We live in an age and society now where participation medals are prevalent, and feelings are paramount. But that does our children a deep disservice. If they dont learn how to lose, and how to fail, and how to not be SCARED to fail then they will not be able to adapt when they are adults. So let your children fail. Let them try something scary, and be there to pick them up when they fall. But DONT refuse to let them fall in the first place. Kids sports arent about them playing professionally someday (although that could happen). Its about them learning how to work with others, try their best, and how to handle losing.
So teach your children to be strong. Teach them that its OK to learn how to lose in an effort to do better next time. Its not just winning or losing . . . its winning or LEARNING.
Naked Man Moleskin
Going along with the CoT theme . . . I feel like ive been getting soft and need to push harder on Qs. So enough being complacent and comfortable.
- Speaker City,- you are the only badass that double tapped with me today. I apologize we didnt do stargazers at the end as requested.
- Dingo- You wacky aussie . . . I dont even recognize you anymore, especially with how far you have come on the lifting. Way to go!
- CERN- Whoooooo boy can you lift! Dont underestimate this Iron Curtain escapee . . . he can throw up some iron!
- Twinning- I feared for our lives when you came screaming in hot. But then I remembered its a Mini Cooper that most of us could stop hulk-style with a punch to the hood . . . .
- Townie- Captain Smiles was in full effect today. Even when he pulled up on the tire races out of an abundance of caution . .
- Radio Flyer- So if any of you have excuses to not come out, just look to radio flyer. He has screws in one knee, and the other knee is held together with chewing gum and electrical tape. Truly an inspiration to us all.
- Gordons- Site Q extraordinaire!! The videos, the pictures, the showing up a couple minutes before . . . I feel like I have taught you well young padawan. π
- Drago- Almost an FNG . . . it was GREAT seeing one of the OG Dark Tower men today! (Now you KNOW ill be harassing you to keep coming out . . . neighbor . . π
- Whopper Jr- Despite still rehabbing an injury, this PAX was busting his tail today lifting. Looking forward to Monday!
- False Start- I specifically added merkins after hearing you say “im not too good at merkins”. π The only way to get better/stronger/faster is to keep on practicing brother . . . great job!!
