Introduction
Pre-Blast – The Citadel – AOVQ – Metallica Monday
Join me @channel as we get in a full body beatdown to start our week off right. This will likely be a parking lot beatdown, so shoes for pavement will do. Don’t be fooled though, we will still be moving!
Drop a Metallica song request in with your HC! Let’s rock! Coupons required!
I got to the AO around 5. Stay-Puft ran by in the middle of his EC to greet me, and then continued his run. Planted my flag, got a lay of the land in the parking lot. Finalized the plan. Let’s get warm.
Warm-O-Rama
I decided that I was going to go through the laundry list of statements throughout warm-o-rama just to get us going. I did give the disclaimer FIRST. Then;
Tappy Taps IC x 10
Hold Coupons Overhead (Cusack) – Recited the Five Core Principles – Coupons down
Arm Circles Forward and Backward IC x 10 each
Hold Coupons Overhead (Cusack) – Recited F3’s Mission Statement and Credo – Coupons down
Overhead Claps IC x 10
Hold Coupons Overhead – then do Overhead press on my up x 10
Throughout the entire workout, every time a new Metallica song came on (about 8 songs), the PAX who requested the song had to name it, then do SSH’s while the rest of the PAX did 5 Burpees OYO. Fun little twist to break up the workout! First time came up at the end of WoR.
Warm.

CoT
I used my CoT today to vent a bit. Last Friday at The Outpost, Columbus and I set off to tackle the CSAUP Starcourse…but with 20lb vests on. This had been on our radar for a few weeks and I had been ‘training’ for it for the last 10 or so posts, wearing a vest to get myself ready. On the day of the actual event…we pushed ourselves. Hard. On the final stretch…my body failed me. I ended up coming up about 25 seconds short (after the buzzer). Columbus DID finish…so TClaps to him! I felt like I failed. Myself and our team. We often talk about setting goals, getting ourselves prepared to take on those goals, and going out and achieving the goals…but what we maybe don’t talk about enough is when we FAIL at those goals. It was a pretty crappy feeling throughout the weekend. I was ready to get back out here today to get that taste out of my mouth. Something that is slowly starting to set in is the realization that failure is something that we should look at as an ‘opportunity’. We have talked about it here and there throughout various CoT’s, but no one wants to really think about it. While I am still bitter … and I also don’t plan on attempting that course again with a vest… I see that there was some opportunity to learn and grow. To get stronger and faster. I may have not finished on time, but I did finish. So to all PAX in attendance (and reading) just keep that in mind. We may not always achieve every goal that we set out to conquer, but we can’t let the failure keep us down either. Get back up, lick your wounds, and keep getting after it!
Naked Man Moleskin
AOVQ at The Citadel. I look forward to coming back and exploring the space a little more. I don’t usually keep to parking lot beatdowns but since this was only my second time ever at the Citadel, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t get the group lost.
Big thanks to Stay Puft for his work as SiteQ. Your enthusiasm is contagious my friend. I didn’t like seeing you have to pick up the Q last week due to no one signing up on your SiteQ day, so I wanted to make sure that for at least this week, it wasn’t a problem!
Always honored to lead! BC
