Snow is back, back again…(well, maybe)

Depending on conditions, we’ll engage in parking garage appreciation time then finish with some cardio fun on the hill. So plan to be off pavement, grab those coupons and LFG!!

Snow, it did! And the plow showed up in the parking lot at 5:10. So we audibled to the municipal garage to begin the workout (saving the Pax an upcoming coupon mosey)

Circle of Trust

Big Gong shared an F3 podcast episode a couple weeks ago that stuck with me. It discusses our desire to be “masculine” but how that often results in “passivity.” Masculinity is hard to obtain but very easy to lose. Because men shy away from failure (especially publicly), the reaction is to retreat or isolate. As an example, the speaker (F3 name Agony) outlines the stereotypical husband/father who comes home from a hard day at work, quietly eats dinner with his family, then retreats to a newspaper, TV, (or in modern times) video games, man-cave, etc. going to bed only after his wife is already asleep. Other examples are given, but essentially  the man works very hard at “work,” but retreats and is passive in other (and more important) aspects of life; those being friends, family, community, etc.

At times, I find myself falling into this. I see it in other as well. This podcast is a great listen and I highly recommend it as a reminder to be present, be aggressive and work hard for what truly matters. Let’s keep pushing forward as men and leaders of our families and community. We’re stronger together! Aye?

This episode seems to be off Apple Podcast and Spotify, but here’s a link to SoundCloud.
