The Thang
First few things were Defensive focused…
Thang #1 Burp n Roll
PAX formed two lines in a ladder formation with each PAX about 5 yards apart. Each PAX starts in high plank. The first PAX starts the exercise by doing 1 burpee then side shuffling over next PAX in high plank, dropping down to a roll in the 5 yard gap and doing 1 more burpee before repeating this movement all the way down the line. The PAX rotate this movement for about 50 yards to the left, the repeat it 50 yards back to the right. The Q calls out OYO Merkins along the way for PAX in high plank.
Thang #2 Sideline to Sideline
PAX form 3 lines each with a medicine ball. Two PAX start out with a low center of gravity side shuffle tossing the medicine ball across to their other partner for about 25 yards and back. All other PAX in line continuously do 4×4’s + a 4 second rest until it’s their turn to move Sideline to Sideline with the medicine ball.
Thang #3 4 Quarters
We had 6 medicine ball drops so we had 6 reps of these 3 explosive exercises for 4 quarters + OT.
- 1st Q – 6 Clerkins, 6 Jump Squats, 6 Burpees
- 2nd Q – 6 Clerkins, 6 Jump Squats, 6 Burpees
- 3rd Q – 6 Clerkins, 6 Jump Squats, 6 Burpees
- 4th Q – 6 Clerkins, 6 Jump Squats, 6 Burpees
- OT – 3 Clerkins, 3 Jump Squats, 3 Burpees
Next few things were offensive focused
Thang #4 Fireball
PAX partner up. PAX 1 is the Q, drops to a burpee, picks ball up and hits PAX 2 with a pass. PAX 2 is dropping back 10 yards Bernie Sanders style and catching the pass. Repeat at 10, 20, 30, 40 yards. 5 Burpees OYO for drops or false starts.
Thang #5 Ball Skills
PAX in two lines, run simple 5 yard outs. Burpees OYO for drops or false starts.
Thang #6 Goal Line
PAX line up line up at base of hill. Q calls cadence with loud stadium noise and works to get the defense to jump. PAX are on offense so any false starts, you guessed it, 5 burpees OYO. Cadence is on “go” nothing else all day here so on “go” PAX run up the hill and back. We repeated 3 reps here up the hill.
Circle of Trust
I spoke to the PAX about football and again, while maybe cliche, how we can learn a lot from this game.
These training camps haven’t been about measuring anyone’s 40 yard dash time or winning a game, these have been about training together, building a team, building comradery and most importantly building TRUST.
When we get up early, work hard together with fellow PAX, this experience becomes memorable. To the point where we build more TRUST with each other. Here is where real LEADERSHIP will thrive.
So when I see you out in the community, I know you, you know me, and we know we have built TRUST between each other by simply coming to F3.
Because we do HARD things together, we build more TRUST together.
Let’s think about that and how we can apply to all parts of our life to make a difference.
Prayers.
