Introduction
It’s been a minute since YHC Qd at Two Wolves. YHC has also been in an inconsistent funk the last month, so seeing a last minute opening, grabbed it and started thinking…
There’s a new crew at Two Wolves, so why not do a couple old favorites…
Arrived at the AO a minute or two after 5 and was caught off guard with it being pitch black. Odd to see the lights off in the parking lot.
5:15 rolled around, disclaimer was given and off we went!
Warm-O-Rama
50 SSH in cadence – increasing speed every 10.
10 Tappy Taps in Cadence
Grab the coupons and mosey over to the basketball court
10 Abe Vigotas in Cadence
Shoulder burners… all in cadence, keeping arms up the whole time
10 Arm Circles forward, 10 backward, 10 tie fighters left leg forward, 10 right leg forward, 10 seal claps, 10 overhead claps, 10 grady corn… recover…
The Thang
Thang 1 – Bear Crawl work…
Bear Crawl Merkin in cadence across the basketball court… The crew didn’t do a great job counting, so not sure how many it was, maybe 12?
BATAAN Bear Crawl around the perimeter of the court. Pax lined up in a long single file line and slowly bear crawled in a line around the perimeter of both courts, last in line did 2 burpees, then ran to the front. All pax did one set of burpees.
Grab Coupons and run to the base of the hill.
Thang 2 – 7s – like 11s, but only 7. 🙂
Blockees at the base of the hill, burpees at the top.
After 1 time up the hill, realized it was a slippery mess and the sprinkler was on, so audibled to take the hill out of the game – Blockees at the base of the hill and burpees over by the washroom.
As soon as 1st pax was finished, he held plank. Other pax joined, regardless where they were in the set so everyone finished together.
Thang 3 – tempo work…
10 curls 2 counts up, 2 counts down. 10 curls 3 counts up, 1 count down, 10 curls 1 count up, 3 counts down.
Same pattern for skullcrushers on the back.
Same pattern for bent over rows.
Romanian one leg deadlifts – same pattern, but only 5 reps each leg.
Bulgarian squats, same pattern, 5 reps each leg.
Thang 3 – Mary
10 Big Boys on YHCs command.
YHC noticed people using coupons to hold their feet, and caught myself picking feet up, so said we would challenge ourselves, and put feet flat on the ground and keep them there when doing big boys.
10 more Big Boys with good form on YHCs command
10 LBCs in cadence
10 LBCs on left side in cadence, 10 right side in cadence.
20 heel touches in cadence
20 manatees in cadence

Circle of Trust
YHC shared the story of the naming of two wolves. Flush was growth Q at the time, Tonka was 1st F Q. Lewinsky and I were site Qs. Typically, site Qs name the AO. A few names were bounced around, we did homework on the Wolf family, who originally owned the property. A lot of names were floated around – Alpha Pointe was one that stuck in mind. We thought about the “mountain” as something that could be included in the name as the hill was a feature of the AO (at least from an F3 perspective). Alpha Peak was another name.
We eventually settled on something, but a few other pax weighed in frustrating us, and lengthening the process. Flush ran across the Native American story of two wolves, where in each of us there is a battle going on between a good wolf, one full of love, charity, humility, etc., and an evil wolf full of jealousy, rage, etc. When asking which wolf wins, it depends on us, the one we feed.
Hence the name 2 wolves.
Point of the story, it’s a great name for a great AO with a great story behind it. Sometimes as a HIM its important to listen to sage advice from others. Knowing when to lead from the back and when to lead from the front is a challenge, but it’s one we must face to unlock our potential as a leader, and surrounding ourselves with people who will keep us pointed in the right direction (like those that weighed in on a bad name choice in this story) is critical to our success.
Naked Man Moleskin
It was nice to get out and lead at 2 wolves. YHC needs to get down there more often, there is a new crew and new energy, an energy that is really encouraging and fun. Keep up the good work at Two Wolves men!
