Introduction

‘No Mercy Mile’ was listed in the F3 Exicon and was chosen because it looked crazy difficult to complete in 35 minutes.  It was using bodyweight-only on grass surface.  Pax will complete 400 yards of walking lunges, 400 yards of bear crawls, 100 merkins, 100 air squats and over a one-half mile of running.

Circle of Trust

So I want to ask this question:  What type of thoughts run through your mind throughout the day?

I am estimating that 90% of our thoughts are either negative or positive.

According to one psychology professor, we are conditioned to think negatively.  That’s because the environment around us is hostile to our well-being and survival.

But, too much negative thinking can have harmful effects on us and our relationship with others.

According to this same psychology professor, it takes more work to think positively than negatively.  We have to train ourselves to see the glass half-full instead of half empty.

In order to work on our negative thinking we first have to recognize what negative thoughts look like.

For me it’s…

  • Being judgmental or critical of others, instead of reminding myself that I’m not perfect, either.
  • Focusing too much on my weaknesses, instead of my strengths.
  • Focusing on what I don’t have, instead of taking advantage of what I have, already.
  • Comparing myself to others instead of appreciating my own unique set of gifts, abilities and experiences.
  • Finally, letting the opinions of others (good or bad) define who I am.

As we recognize the presence of negative thoughts throughout our day we should take a moment to address them and replace them with positive messages.  As we do this on a consistent basis, it will eventually become almost effortless. I believe this will prepare us for most, if not all, unexpected circumstances that our personal Jester can use to keep us from accelerating.  Aye?

Closed with prayer.  Two Pax mentioned were in our TaP.

Naked Man Moleskin

It has been a long time since I got on the Q sheet.  I scheduled myself again in two weeks.  Twenty Pax showed up and pushed each other to get through this challenging workout.  With three minutes left it didn’t look like a couple of us (including myself) were going to complete this workout.  But, we were encouraged to keep pushing and everyone finished and made it back to the flag at exactly 6:00am!  Special thanks to Parks and Rec, Damaged Goods, Toady, and Dick Cheney for collecting all the equipment from the field and bringing it back to the flag.
