Introduction

Calling all Clydesdales! It’s time to lace up your running shoes because you’re going to need them. We will be getting faster 400 meters at a time.  All are welcome. Weight vests are suggested for you “lighter” guys….

Your Humble Correspondent awoke to rain hitting the roof, and it only rained harder on the drive to BP.  I was optimistic that, based on the radar, we would have a window in which to get our thang in.  Still, I worked to devise an alternate strategy.  Fortunately, as 5:15 rolled around, the rain subsided and we were able to let the Clydesdales out of the barn.

The disclaimer was given and five principles of F3 were reviewed.  Let’s go…

The Thang

The Thang was our standard quarter mile loop for time with a 60-second active recovery in between each loop.  The objective was for each PAX to finish each loop within 10 seconds of their initial time.

Two miles were reached, everyone stayed dry (from rain anyway), and the PAX became 1% better runners.

We ended with a quarter mile cool down.

Circle of Trust

I was traveling the last couple of days and had the opportunity to post downrange with another region.  Despite the fact that I travel to this destination with some frequency, I had never been able to locate a region there, and the nation website did not (and still doesn’t) show a flag planted there.  Understanding there was one there now, I was able to get deets from a PAX on the nation’s Slack, and even showed up with an FNG.

We worked out with seven other PAX and I was shocked to learn that this region started three years ago, yet they still  have just one AO that is open three days a week and they only get a handful of guys.  This experience made me so thankful for the vibrancy and leadership found in F3 Naperville!  I think we can all take this for granted, but we need to remember both how lucky we are and that we only get out of this what we put into it, both individually and as a region.

We offered prayers of support for the family of Nugent, a member of F3 Omaha, who was found shot to death last week.

Naked Man Moleskin

I am glad that we were able to get the big boys out running this morning.  They would not have enjoyed the alternative I had in mind!

Until next time,

Judge
