Circle of Trust
I shared with the PAX my view of Josephy Ossai, linebacker for the Bengals, who in last nights AFC Championship game was called for a personal foul which led to a 15 yard penalty and Kansas City kicking a game winning field goal…to go to the super bowl. Heartbreaking way to end a season man.
The camera man kept panning to Ossai, who at 22, a grown man in the NFL, was balling his eyes out. You could not, NOT feel for this man as he was taking the mistake all on his shoulders. It’s these moments, we need that teammate to come back to lift us back up. It’s the same exact element woven into our credo “leave no man behind, leave no man where you find him”.
It was a bad play and Ossai owned it. At the same time, what a learning moment, what a time for leadership to come through. We’ve all heard “one man and one play does not win a game, just as one man or one play does not lose a game”. A lot goes into winning or losing. What’s important, is that the team sticks together, win or lose.
So on that note of watching someone experience an impactful loss like that…and in the spirit of Subzero and the kung-fu world as well as the subzero temps outside today, I leave you with this…
“A black belt is a white belt who never gave up…”
Keep going…
Prayers.
