Introduction

Join YHC as we welcome warmer temps to BP.  That’s right, the feels like temp will actually be in double digits.  We will be getting ready for Speedo season by slinging coupons and moving around the AO.  Come ready to sweat.  We will stick to pavement.  We will jam to great music.  We will get buff.

Late in the day Tuesday, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was going to do as I was unsure what kind of surface conditions we would face.  In the end, I settled on a variation of an old Iron Pax workout, deconstructing the wheel of misfortune.

I arrived early to get things set up.  Several pax were getting some EC ruck miles in and confirmed that the path around the AO had a lot of black ice.  I was glad I had decided to keep things in the parking lot.

5:15 and more pax rolling in.  Let’s go!

The Thang

Deconstructed Wheel of Misfortune

There were six stations set along the long parking island, with three on each side.  In between each station, the pax had to Cusack carry their coupon.  After completing each round of six exercises, they had to run a 400m lap around the lot, and then rinse and repeat.  Most pax got around three times.

Circle of Trust

I’ve been reflecting on Laimbeer’s Q tribute workout yesterday to honor the victims and first responders at the Henry Pratt manufacturing plant shooting three years ago.  In his CoT, he shared a quote from Connor McGregor: “I stay ready so I don’t have to get ready.”

I shared that this morning, as there are so many contexts in our lives that we can apply this to, both positively and negatively.  If you are giving up drinking, for example, you must stay ready to avoid opportunities where you might want to drink.  Or at work, you have to stay ready for opportunities that might present themselves unexpectedly.  The moral of it, I think, is to always be taking action instead of thinking about the action you’ll take some day…

Naked Man Moleskin

Great mumblechatter this morning.  I enjoyed getting to know Shameless Plug more, as this was his second post.  I encourage all of you to get to know this HIM!

Until next time,

Judge
