1/3/2022 @ 0515Step into the Lions den as we start 2022 with our good friend Mo’ aka Momentum! Leave the coupons at home but bring a 
(sled) if you have em’. I’ll have 4 with me. We’ll need 1 for every 2 PAX. If you have a headlamp bring it with also. SYITG

The Thang
Thang One – Lisle High Parking Lot
Catch Me If You Can
Two partners. Partner 1 performs 4 Burpees (or 10 Diamond Merkins or X Number of Whatever the Q says), and then sprints to catch the Partner 2, who has been running backwards. Repeat until Q says stop or track lap is complete.
The goal was 10 minutes yet I cut it short at 8 minutes.
Thang Two – Baby Hand’s Hill (East Side of Hill & Pavilion)
Dora 1-2-3
Teams of 2 pax working together to reach cumulative exercise goals of 100, 200, and 300 reps. Pax 1 executes as many reps as possible while Pax 2 sprints 100 yards down and back. Flapjack until team goal is reached. Exercises are a top-to-bottom of body progression, i,e, 100 merkins per team (chest), 200 LBCs per team (core), 300 squats per team (legs). Modified Dora 1-2-3 is 50, 100, and 150 reps.
I substituted 100 yard sprints with a sprint up the East side of the hill and sled back down to the pavilion to relieve your partner.

My head count at 0550 threw Nacho off. He thought I was confused or something. We learned a valuable lesson at GTE25 which I implemented here. As the Q I’m responsible for my men, If anyone is missing I’d like to know before we get to the flags.

At service yesterday our Pastor started with the word “Momentum.”
He said it can be on our side while we still face opposition head on. We have more speed toward advancement than that coming against us allowing us to keep moving forward. He then gave us five things to keep our eyes set on in 2022.

I picked this Q slot specifically after the new year because it would keep me uncomfortable. I knew the pressure would be on to deliver. I wanted to start building some 2022 Momentum with my IRON LION brothers. It had been too long and it was time to give back. With the fresh snow I immediately thought of Bjorn’s Q last New Years day at LP. My Q was inspired by his. We used a smaller hill at LP and it worked out great which is why unlike some of the princesses yesterday, I never panicked. The mumble chatter was high on the “danger” using the hill. I’m crazy not stupid. They underestimated a few things. 1) I would have a back up plan 2) I wouldn’t scope the scene before hand 3) There’s more ways to come down a hill 4) I knew the landscape. Shoot it even went better than I planned, IMHO. Before we began Thang Two another disclosure was given to anyone who possibly felt uncomfortable sledding, no judgement. The PAX’s safety this morning was my number one concern. Thang One in the school lot was no accident. I knew that lot would be as good as we could get and it was. A few spots here and there yet that’s what we’re for. Brother Bluto picked a fight with the curve and unfortunately lost. Overall effort was pretty good, we encouraged one another and the headlights came in handy. I love how I feel whenever at The Lion today was no different. I tweaked my back yesterday cleaning up around home yet that QJuice kept it off my mind. Thank you all for making the trip, next time keep calm NO PASA NADAAAAAA (aint no thangggggg)
