Introduction
Welcome to the Ridge…
Normal disclaimers plus be safe on the bike route…
We recommend helmets for safety.
We welcome Wet Wipe from up North. He mentions the drive was like going to Missouri and he had to stop and use the restroom twice on the way down.
We discussed the possibility of doing a longer bike q at the ridge like the one being done at The Complex & Dtower.
I walked through the logistics of the Triathlon.
Warm-O-Rama
We all got on the bikes and did the warm-up on the 3 mile bike route. This is to give everyone an idea of the route. We came back did a 3 exercise stretch and got into the Triathlon.
The Thang
The Tri began with 100 merkins, 100 big boys, 100 squats, and 100 side straddle hops. These were done OYO. Upon completion the PAX jumped on the bike for the 3 mile loop. First 3 HIMs to exit stage 1 were the top 3 finishers: Bedpan, Vern & Dilly Dilly. Upon completion of the bike the run had 2 separate options. 1. under 200 lbs – around the lake approx. mileage .75 of a mile and 2. Clydesdale over 200lbs a .55 mile run. The top finisher with the gold medal was Bedpan, second with the silver was Vern and the bronze went to Dilly Dilly. The feedback from the group was positive. The bike is a good change up that can help in keeping our HIMs from injury.
Circle of Trust
I shared a message on attitude. As a father i try to encourage a positive attitude in my boys. I also need to look in the mirror and reflect on my own attitude and making that right.
Here is the Chuck Swindoll quote that I read. (I also have it posted in one of my twin boys room. A gift to him and reminder)
ATTITUDE
by
Charles Swindoll
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes”
We closed with prayer for our Heavenly Father to guide and protect us. We lifted up Toady (God’s protection over him as he fights COVID) Mr. Myogi – (continued healing), Wet Wipe’s father in law (his health)
Naked Man Moleskin
I enjoyed leading this Triathlon Q. I think that it is important to have a good balance between difficult workouts and others that balance out our fitness. Another way to say it is I prefer the kick in the a$$ workouts that help me get better versus the kick in the eggplant that double me over and potentially causes injury. This is the great part of F3 naperville, we have options to alternate/modify and push things as our body permits.
It was great to have Wet Wipe , Patchouli & WEbloes come down from up North. I enjoy getting to know HIMs from other AOs by visiting and having them come down.
I appreciate the brotherhood that happens through F3. I am honored to be part of this life changing organization.
