Introduction

I picked this Q up on Monday as there were many openings on the Q sheet for the week. I had planned two different options, one that was mostly stationary and another that involved a tour of the finest parts of this great AO. As it turned out this was fortuitous as I injured my knee during the F3 basketball game the night before and wasn’t even sure I would be able to Q! Luckily, the knee healed sufficiently that I could bend my leg when I woke up and I was off to Q!

Arrived about 5:05. Set up two cones in the adjacent field. Met the PAX…one FNG from Tennessee. We had a good crowd today.

Recited the 5 core principles and disclaimer. The disclaimer was especially pertinent as I needed to modify the planned workout to limit bending and strain on my knee.

The Thang

Ladder of Death!

Starting with 1 rep each, complete the exercises below together. Once all 5 were completed, farmer carry with a partner. One partner carries to the cone, the other partner carries back. We completed 13 rounds!

Exercises:

Curls, Shoulder press, Chest press, Lat pullovers, Lion Kings (starting with round 11 PAX could choose either Lion Kings or Goblet Squats).

Mary…Merkin ring of fire…each PAX did 2 merkins. Nacho Libre wanted to do more than 2 merkins; however, we were up against the clock and finished exactly at 6:00.

Circle of Trust

Simplicity! The ladder of death is a very simplistic workout that seems easy at first, but pushes you to your limit, both mentally and physically, by the end of the workout. An action or task doesn’t have to be complex to help you accelerate and grow. Sometimes the simplest tasks can be the most rewarding if we are mindful of the details and honor the task.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks to the PAX that came out. The weather was great – a balmy 66 degrees and the rain had held off. Also, thanks to Shoeless for having the 6, I know you were a little disappointed that you didn’t have to pull out your standby Q when the Q fartsacks. All joking aside, I really didn’t think I would make it out. I tried to run through a Wine in the Box screen (I don’t recommend trying that at home) at the F3 basketball game the night before and could not straighten my leg nor bend it 90 degrees without pain. I had given Shoeless a heads up when the injury occurred and sent him my planned workout, but there were 14 PAX that had HC’d and I couldn’t let them down! When I woke up, I was able to bend my leg fully and put some weight on it so I was good enough for a mostly stationary workout. I hope all enjoyed it. Also, I hadn’t Q’d very much the first 3 months of the year and it felt good to get the adrenaline rush again that I get when I Q!
