Circle of Trust

I was with my wife’s family last weekend and my wife mentioned that I was part of this cult that wakes up at 4AM and works out in the cold weather.  They asked me why I did it, and I had to think about it for a second.  The only answer I could come up with (that I actually believed) was that I think its fun.  Maybe not the cold weather or grinding out bear crawls, but the fun is being out with other HIMs like today.  It reminds me of when I was a kid training over the summer for baseball or hitting the gym with my buddies to see how much we could bench press.  As an adult, that is hard to find.  So I guess my message today is if you need some motivation, find a way to make it more fun.  Get your buddies to HC with you or invite one of your buddies out as an FNG.  If you don’t typically attend coffeeteria, start making more time for it.  If you haven’t ever done an EC run, try it. It’s a great way to get to know your fellow Pax.  Do a CSAUP with these guys and get to know someone new.  You won’t regret it.

I really wanted to get 3 miles running into this boot camp and to use a few areas of the AO that we don’t normally use.  We did get the 3 miles (my watch had it at 3.4 miles) but I may have pushed the runs a little long.  We got separated in a few places, but was lucky to have Big Gong covering the 6 today.
