Introduction

This was my AOVQ at Dark Tower.  I wanted to get the guys moving, I wanted to elevate and I wanted to push the pace.

We’ll be on the move. Pavement with a little grass mixed in. We’ll be up, we’ll be down, we’ll be all around. Kick those beers and burgers from the weekend and get the week started right. SYITG!!

The Thang

Head Count

YHC asked the PAX to carry their coupons from the flag plant location to the side of the hill.  We’d be back for those later… Once we dropped the bricks, it was off to the amphatheatre.

Side straddle hop for 6.  Once the 6 was in, it was 25 Durkins on my down.  Then we were on the move again.  This time, to the bridge.  Each PAX found a beam.  On my up… we pushed it for 10 pull ups.  We dropped from the beams, and then we mosied.  This time, to the parking garage where we got to Thang 1.

I busted out the chalk and wrote out the 4 excercises.  These was a modified “4 corners” routine.  Where, we’d do a workout at the ground level.  Take the 6 flights of stairs up; do another.  Run to the other side of the parking garage, for another excercise.  Down the stairs for the final excercise, to return to the start for a repeat.  Each time through, you would at 10 reps to each work.

4 Corners (til 5:45 AM)
-Ground level:
Merkins x10, x20, x30, x40
-All the way up the stairs:
Air Squats x10, x20, x30, x40
-Over:
Calf raises on Stair: x10, x20, x30, x40
-Down the stairs
Big Boys x10, x20, x30, x40

Once we gathered we assembled all the PAX, it was a mosey again off to the base of the hill.  Remember those coupons?  Here we go for Thang 2.

At the base of the hill, YHC had a cone with 4 different movements to traverse the hill.  Once you reached the top, there was another cone with 4 coupon exercises.

Few attempted the crawl bear.  Those who did, were grunting and not happy with YHC.  It’s not my job to make you happy, it’s my job to make you stronger.  We all got stronger today, and finished with a little mary to wrap up the work out.

Circle of Trust

The PAX have inspired me.  With Father’s Day yesterday, I passed along my well wishes to the Father’s among us.  Then I passed along my admiration to Fathers (to which I am currently NOT one) for what they do, they lives the lead and the role the set for guys like me to follow.  I thanked them for their leadership and reminded the PAX to always be leading, both with the family and elsewhere, as you never know who may be watching.

Naked Man Moleskin

We were wrapping up Thang 1, I reminded the PAX that we were nearing our time and to finish up your last exercise before heading over for Thang 2.  I also took the time to remind Laimbeer that I prefer not be crop dusted mid Big Boy.
