Introduction

PreBlast :computer:  Virtuosity :computer: Monday August 16 5:15am! Come join YHC for a full body beatdown! I am revisiting a couple of favorite Thangs for this one. Mark off 20 yards AND 50 yards. We will be moving! You don’t want to miss this one. You will even get a chance to say hi to a few other F3 Naperville PAX as I will be bringing this to you LIVE from the Outpost. :exploding_head:

I got to OP about 4:50 to give myself time to set up. I wanted to bring out an old TV of mine and get the guys from Virtuosity up on the ‘big screen’ so that PAX here at the OP could see everyone and really get a feel for our brothers at various locations. 

Weather was great and PAX rolled in on time.

50 Yard out and Back with your coupon. (This was done to emulate the PAX at OP moseying with their coupons to the pavilion. Roughly 100 yards total from flags.)

The Thang

Thang 1 

Suicides – 20 Yards

Exercise for given amt of reps, then tap ground 8x, 6x, 4x, 2x

SSH For 6

Exercises (64 Total Reps Each):

  • Curls x 16
  • Goblet Squat x 16
  • Irkins x 16

Example: 16 Curls, 20 yard suicide runs, 8 times taping the ground. Then 16 Curls, 20 yard suicide run 6 times taping the ground. 16 Curls, 20 yard suicide runs 4 times taping the ground. 16 Curls, 20 yard suicide runs 2 times taping the ground. SSH till everyone finishes. Then we start again with Goblet Squats, then Irkins.

100 –  Upright Row

100 – Jump Squat

100 – Windshield Wipers (leg over Coupon, each side is 1)

  • 8 Dips, 4 Burpees

Today I wanted to reflect on a few things. One; what F3 continues to mean to me. Looking back at my Backblast from last year at this time, I feel like I have built upon the 3 F’s that we all represent. Fitness … or adult recess… has been amazing. Continuing to post regularly has been great both physically but even for my mental health. The fellowship in this group speaks for itself. Whether it be the lunches, coffee, Q Source, etc. 3rd F – Community/Faith. Being able to witness the check presentation on Saturday at DT was amazing and humbling. I had always wanted a way to be able to get involved with the community but I just didn’t know how. This group has provided the way. 

I wrapped up the CoT with a quick story about some close friends of ours. Yesterday, one of our friends, a woman who stood up in our wedding, let us know that her and her husband have decided to end their marriage. Not quite her decision, but the decision that has been made. This was heart breaking news as I always felt they had what it took to have a lifetime of happiness together. Later on yesterday evening, we got a message from another close friend, another woman who stood up in our wedding, and she was letting us know that she had just gotten engaged! Wow. We are so happy for her. What a range of emotions in one day though. Especially from such close friends of ours. It serves as a reminder that when you are having your best day, someone out there may be having their worst. Same goes in the reverse though. Be humble. Don’t take anything for granted. Try to find the silver linings. Enjoy what life has to offer.

Wow! Everything went off without any issues today! (except for me forgetting to charge my watch). Bringing two worlds together was exciting and humbling. Such a cool experience. Thank you Wet Wipe for giving me the all clear to attempt this today. Thank you to my two siteQ’s for the support. Only in this group are you truly free to come up with different ideas and LEAD! I visited OP yesterday with my M and my boys. They went and played on the playground while I tested all of the internet connections and marked off some distances. In the virtual world, I like to give out designated distances in the preblast, so I wanted to make sure I knew what we were doing at OP so that we were all consistent. The extra planning paid off!

In case you missed it, there was a heavy significance on 8 and 16 today. August 16th is when I celebrate another trip around the sun. I did a similar workout to this last year. I joked with the guys that I made it a little easier today to accommodate the OP guys HAHA! In all seriousness though, everyone pushed hard. The Sprints give your lungs a good burn and having to bend over and tap the ground really gets your quads feeling it. At least it did for me. I appreciate everything this group has given me.
