Circle of Trust

Well, the Circle-Of-Trsust was more a a Line-Of-Trust, as we performed it while walking back to the flags – time got tight at the end.

Noted that I’ve been angry lately, which is not typical. So too have many HIMs, as the stress of COVID containment gives way to return to normal (kids routines, work balance, etc.).  I’m fairly good with controlling emotions and practicing my Stoicism, but the balance got distorted recently.  Figured it was good to share that, and acknowledge anger while we listened to 70s/80s punk music (Vandals, TSOL, Misfits, Mission for Burma, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, Stiff Little Fingers – the deep punk stuff!).

“Today I escaped anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions — not outside.” — Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Key Takeaway:

  • You control your emptions, reactions to external events beyond your control

Naked Man Moleskin

It got tight timewise on last set of EMOMs – wasn’t sure whether to skip and move into what YHC hoped to be a 5 min stretch, but looked over at the PAX and pushed on to hit that last series.  It was Callahan that did it, although he didn’t say anything, YHC sensed this dude wanted one more push to make this a decent Q (Merkins, pullups, burpee EMOMs … LFG for set 4). Also got same sense from Big Kahuna (great to see you at The Bear), and when he HC’d I wondered if this Q would be tough enough to keep him engaged (my Marine can move).

Dorn is a soldier – dude pushes through every Q, even though looked a little pained today (don’t push too hard, want you out for long-haul and might mean pulling out a bit short-term).  Urban Cowboy went full-speed bada$$ with a 25# weighted vest – solid!

Glad to get the backstory on Cage Free’s naming – think that warrants some Coupon art!  Chain Link always great to workout with (PS – keep an eye out for No Name, CO on your trip).

Last of all, excited Chazz is reading Marcus Aurelius, Meditations – lined up nicely with the CoT (or LoT).

CoffeeTERIA was a hoot – old dude (a/k/a Capt Grey Balls) pulled up in a red Ferrari and gave some mumblechatter on the level with our best (like Nacho Libre).  He was not interested in us showing him how to drive it, and not likely joining us ITG.  Too bad, had a few names lined up for him …
