Introduction

I wanted to do something a little different. The air here is a lot thinner, drier, and cooler than where I moved from, and the standard warm ups always leave me moving slow. I thought I’d incorporate a full workout into the warm up, and really get us moving.

Advertised as a pusherama, and hopefully delivered. I’m usually the six, so hoping that what’s pushing me is at least a good routine for the beasts we’ve got coming out.

Thang 1

Island to Island – Merkin storm

Bear crawl to far curb. Hand on curb, ten incline merkins

Crawl bear back to first island, feet on curb for ten decline merkins

Frog jump to far end. Right hand on curb for ten angled merkins

Lunge walk back to start. Left hand on curb for ten angled merkins. Pick up the six.

Thang 2

Contra burpee suicide ladder. Five markers, burpees with increasing merkins at each marker and at the starting line up to ten. Ladder down until six is in.

Mary

Split the PAX into two teams, and held plank while playing rock paper scissors until there was a single winner.

Big boy sit ups until six – in cadence. I believe we managed 43.

Circle of Trust

Since this was my first Q in Crossroads, I let everyone know about where I came from. Recently moved to Naperville from Atlanta, during lockdot. Left friends and family behind, lost my two pets, and had a hard time up here until finding F3.

I appreciate everyone here, both for pushing anrd supporting me. I open up all my CoT time to the PAX to talk if they need support, because so many have supported me.

All together, 55 burpees, over a hundred merkins, and just shy of a hundred big boys for every PAX, along with everything else.

Naked Man Moleskin

A mix of exercises I hate, and ones I’m decent at. I wanted the Burn-a-Rama to be in cadence to prevent OYO or AMRAP movements from burning anyone out. It was pointed out my cadence was off on SSH, which was intentional to keep the pace, but it did throw off the start, since it was odd for everyone. In the future, I’ll just change the vocal cadence and slow down the actual reps.

Still, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to call cadence for twenty minutes, and proud of myself for managing. Got sweat in my eyes at one point and couldn’t read my routine, so I missed doing the Alabama Prom Dates, but I’ll get that again at a future Q.
