Introduction
Siterep: Not as fancy as a whole poem scraped from the pages of the 19th century… but….
It was a cold morning, but not that cold
12 PAX woke up, to BP they rolled
5 showed early to get miles on the board
in the December to Remember run to take the first place hoard
5k ran in sub 8 time,
those 5 PAX showed they were of one mind
To one up Urkel and show F3
there’s a new leader in town – the DINGO TEAM.
Recovery Time and then the flags were planted
Off to the post in cadence they chanted
As Warm O Rama took place and then to thang
Christmas rock and metal across the BP it rang
Presses and walls and curls and squats
Dips and crunches and side straddle hops
All to the tune of 1.5 minute stretches
No rest in between except for 15 seconds
Mary had elbows to knees and planks
The Merking ring of fire – it stank
But all finished stronger, wiser, and free
to proclaim they had posted this morning at BP

My son asked me last night where does my name come from? He was actually asking about our last name Veenker.
I wasn’t sure so I looked it up. Turns out Veenker comes from the Dutch German region known for slaying lions barehanded and Veenker specifically means “he who slew 36 lions by hand”. (I totally made that up)
For the fun of it I also looked up Tourniquets last name turns out it means “tiny man”. (Also totally made that up)
Of course that led me to reflect on the names that we’ve been given here at F3. You call me TPS report because I work in data and analytics. Then there’s bedpan.
All of that to say names are incredibly important. Sometimes we tend to find meaning in our names; other times our identity.
This time of year we also have an incredible example of names. Thousands of years before he was born we were told he would be known as Wonderful Counselor, All mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. And then when he was born he was called Emmanuel: God with us.
It’s hard for me to think of any other name that has had such a profound impact on the history and existence of humanity regardless of what you believe in today.
For me that name signifies sacrifice and love and salvation and it’s my hope that if it doesn’t already then it will come to mean the same things to you too.
May this season that we enter be another chance this year serve as a reminder of the one name above all names.
