Introduction
So, on Father’s Day, we usually have some sort of get together with others – this year, the extended family didn’t share a meal, but we decided it made sense to smoke a pork shoulder yesterday for just us, as well as make some of the sides that would go along with some good BBQ. That said – I was looking forward to torching some calories and doing a few things we’ve done before, and trying some new tricks as well. I think it worked out pretty well.

Circle of Trust
Fathers days was yesterday – so we should totally have a couple #dadjokes
Q. What do you call a belt made out of $20 bills?
A. A Waste (waist) of money
Q. What do you call a dinosaur fart? (pax responded with Rusty, but that would be a dinosaur who farts)
A. A blast from the past
In the online church service yesterday, they talked about what we pass on to our kids. Often, we think of property, or money, or tangible objects as an inheritance, but it is so much more. What is it that we are leaving our kids. As fathers it is difficult. We need to be tough, yet sensitive, be a provider, yet a family man. I encourage others (and myself) to be intentional about what we do, because without intention, it is just an accident, happy or otherwise. That said, let’s be intentional about what it is that we pass along to our kids, so that they may pass it on to theirs.
Thank you Lord for our health and the ability to get up and get better this morning. Thank you for the fellowship of other pax. Special prayers for Crabgrass and his family. Uncle Rico and his brother. Zima, who has a friend and brother both battling cancer, and Rusty who has a family friend battling cancer at a young age. We know that you can bring peace to all of these situations and pray that the families can feel your love during this difficult time.
Naked Man Moleskin
So, this is one that was a bit of a hodgepodge. I wanted to get out and around, log a couple miles, and try a couple different things. I’m thankful that I was able to pull it off, and that pax were pushed, and I look forward to the next time that I answer the bell to Q again. I challenge pax to step up and lead. It is a way to get out of the comfort zone if you haven’t done it, and it is in a very safe space.
Special shout out to Rusty for the encouragement after the slow Freddy Mercurys – “well, that sucked”
Thanks to either Rusty or Zima for the gas powered LBCs during Mary. I was thankful that we were maintaining our 12′ distance so I didn’t have to catch whiff of it.
