Circle of Trust

We ended with a “Have-A-Nice-Day” and reflected on the word “Competitor” for 15 seconds.

I asked a few to share what this word means to them…motivation, determination, etc.

I then shared how I remembered at a young age, maybe 3 or 4 how I got a fun lesson on what a “competitor” is but more importantly what I learned within that lesson.

In my house, I grew up 1 of 7 kids and you learn to be competitive innately in that type of an environment. I.E. Who eats the fastest eats the most or in some cases…simply eats.

Back when I was 3 or 4 my mom used to work as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker. My dad was watching TV and a commercial for Century21 came on and he jokingly…sorta…starting booing Century21. “Boo….[the bad guys…the other team…the competition]”

While it was somewhat of a joke I’ll never forget that moment. My dad was showing me that there is and will be competition in life and in a way, if your competing against them, you’re competing to win and it’s up to you to beat them. And maybe do it with a certain attitude.

While I’ve learned to counter balance this competitive edge with more peace in my life, I know I was not only made aware of it at a young age, but this edge was somewhat instilled in me.

So the lesson within this competitive lesson is, some of us our fathers, brothers, workers and/or more who are in leadership positions and when you’re in a leadership position like we are at F3 if not these other areas, well, other people are watching.

This is what makes us all here High Impact Men.

To become a “competitor” was one thing my dad was teaching me in that moment. What are you teaching others in your moment?

Prayers.
