Circle of Trust

This boot camp was designed with the need for someone else to complete it. It wasn’t about reps, time or the overall best and strongest man. It was about getting the job done with help from others and also with you helping others.

Football isn’t played alone and taking one play off could lose you the game or leave someone injured. Did you hang your partner out to dry as you took your lap? Nah, you pressed and went faster than you normally would.

Firefighters never go into a call alone and there is never one lone hero. Everyone has the man next to them’s 6.

You trust that the man next to you will be there, that they will complete the task at hand and give their all. You give your all because life depends on it. There is no feeling sorry for yourself or taking the easy way out. Everyone in a fire department is the 6.

So everyone today was the 6 to your partner and thank you again to Soccermom for having the entire groups 6.

Much like life, everything that we do on a daily basis requires the help of others. Do we work alone? Do we raise kids alone? Do we source our own food, water, build our own houses? No. So why is asking for help perceived a weakness when we all need help. People want to help and we need to learn how to accept help when we need it. At the same time being one that stands up and offers help even when it’s uncomfortable, difficult or you having nothing left in the tank. Be a helper but also accept those helpers.

Let’s pray – Dear God, Thank you for giving us the grit and courage to begin the day by bettering ourselves and others. Help us to accept help from others while also being the ones to reach out to others to lead and help. We are all in this together and that was by your design. Be with us, our families, our circles and those needing you the most. Amen
