1 Corinthians 9:25, “All athletes are discipline in their training. They do it to win a prize
that will fade away…” (NLT) and I’ll add, “and soon be forgotten”. Nobody remembers who won
the Super Bowl 3 years ago. Nobody remembers who got the gold medal at the Olympics. Those
people train 8 hours a day. Exercise day after day after day for an award nobody remembers
them even getting or even cares about 48 hours later. But we do it for an award that will last
forever.
Let me PAUSE to say…God loves you no matter what you weigh! And there is no weight
limit for getting into heaven. Thank God for that, because then there might be height limit and
I’d be out. Habits are things you do. They are not what you are! You have weaknesses, we all
have weakness, but we are not our weaknesses. You are a unique creation of God, flawed by
your nature and choices, yet deeply loved by God. No man or woman will ever love you as much
as God does. His love for you is not dependent on your habits or weight. And he can use you
despite your health. HOWEVER, God desires more from you and he knows there is more for
you to do if you were physically able to do it.
