Introduction

Disclaimer:

F3 is a men’s workout held outdoors rain or shine and led in a rotating fashion.  I am not a professional. I do not know of any injuries you may have, so modify if you have to, but push yourselves.  We will end in a circle of trust.

Warm-O-Rama

WoR

SSH x 25 in cadence

Arm circles x 10 in cadence

Goofballs x 20 in cadence

Good mornings x 10 in cadence

The Thang

Mosey to cafe (drop off rucks)

Mosey to Eagle St opposite city hall

Squats x 50

Merkins x 50

Mumblechatter: I shared how during this Q, Noonan had told us to bring rucks and coupons. As we got started, we knew there was no way we were going to fit everything in that he planned. We also recalled his patriotic themed “music” which included a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence. It was kinda weird, but we didn’t ask questions.

Mosey to Central Park gazebo by North Central

50 dips

50 big bois

Inner thought: at this point I realized I was doing sets of 50 unintentionally. For the rest of the workout, I made it intentional.

Mosey to train station

50 Rocky Balboas

50 mountain climbers

Mosey back to DT to our rucks

Mumblechatter: on the way back, Townie shared a funny story about a Benet game he attended and how boosters were trying to sell spirit wear. It seemed like everyone knew and liked Noonan, so someone asked him to help make a sales pitch. He got on the loudspeaker and announced that all spirit wear was 50% off (it wasn’t). People were understandably upset, but not for long because how could you stay mad at someone like Noonan?

From cafe to top of hill: walk halfway, lunge to base of hill with rucks. 10x burpees, then AYG to top of hill.

Mumblechatter: at the base of the hill, we started burpees at about 5:55. I reminded the guys that were there for Noonan’s Q that it was about that time when Noonan said “guess we don’t have time for coupons!” It was one of those endearing moments that we can smile about.

Mary

1 minute low plank

Inner thought: I don’t know what it was, but I had the energy to go longer than a minute today. My cadence felt good. I wasn’t shaking or struggling like I do sometimes when the count gets to about 45. Part of me thinks Noonan was giving me an extra boost.

Circle of Trust

Today is going to be a hard day for a lot of people.  I wanted to recreate Noonan’s workout from June 27th so we can talk about fond memories and have a smile on our faces thinking about Noonan during a day where emotions may vary from person to person.  We all need to remember to pick up the 6 today (and every day for that matter) by being there for each other and, if needed, for Noonan’s family.  The prayer that we said is an Irish blessing.  I read blessing by myself at first and the explanation of the origin of the prayer in CoT, while also commenting on Noonan’s strength with his faith and knowledge of things like the Pentecost (read his backblasts… he was very well-versed and well-spoken on many faith related topics).  After this, I repeated the prayer and PAX recited with me line by line:

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;

the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Naked Man Moleskin

Please continue to keep Noonan’s family in your thoughts and prayers.  Pick up the 6 today and be there for those who need it.
