Introduction
Preblast The Outpost Tuesday 11/29 0515 Run Club
It will be my closest thing to an “Out and Back” Q yet, but not 100%. I would anticipate going “Out and Back” over the bridge a few times though! HC Below and be ready to RUN
Edit: This will be ruck friendly if that’s what you need for tomorrow.
Got to the AO around 4:55 and made my way out to start setting up some cones that we would use for the route.
PAX started piling in. Circled up. 5 core principles, disclaimer, mission statement, and credo recited. Let’s get warm.

Gave the PAX the following instructions:
Mosey to the east end “T” of the path that leads to the bridge. Run to the bridge. Once you get to the bridge you will note two blinking cones. Pick up your pace between the two blinking cones, then return back to a ‘running’ pace up and over the bridge. Turn around at the stop sign and come back over the bridge. When you get back to the east end of the bridge, that will complete ‘ladder one’.
Ladder Two…start back west over the bridge. Again, increase your pace between the two blinking cones. Once you get to the stop sign on the west side turn around and come back over the bridge. This time, you will pass the cone at the end of the bridge and keep going to cone number two. This is ‘ladder two’.
Ladder Three…repeat above but on the way back east, keep going till the third cone (around the middle of the baseball fields).
Ladder Four…repeat above but on the way back east, keep going till the fourth cone (light pole after the baseball fields).
Ladder Five…repeat above but on the way back east, keep going till the T of the paths.
For the Gazelles, if you finish the five rungs of the ladder, start again in descending order.
Around 0550 I started telling PAX to head back towards flags and do laps in the parking lot until the 6 was in.

I retold an abbreviated version of a story I told PAX earlier in October. It was about a wedding my M and I had gone to in Boston. The bride was a long time friend of ours. She had previously been engaged but the wedding was called off a few weeks before it was to happen. She ended up meeting her now Husband on the postponed would-have-been honeymoon.
Anyways…about a month after the wedding, we found out that her former fiancé passed away. Young…age 38. I don’t know the exact nature/cause of his death but all I can think about is how crazy life is. How many times do we all come to forks in the road … crossroads in life … and don’t realize the impact that a small current decision can have on the future? How different life could have been for both of these individuals. Really, how different life can be for any of us if it was not for many little decisions or crossroads we have all faced in life. Just a reminder to give your day to day interactions and decisions their proper thought. I am not saying mull over every single decision but rather be intentional with what you are doing. Just like when you are out here posting and busting your ass on every exercise, rep, etc… give it what you’ve got when going through life. Don’t ever just ‘phone it in’.

Good crowd today of runners and some ruckers. I was a little disappointed that the rucking crew decided to go off on their own route rather than join the runners on the bridge ladder. My hope was to have PAX continually crossing paths to offer up encouragement, fist bumps, etc. That was my fault though … I did not properly communicate this up front.
Today was Spaceballs first run club. Love the effort he gave today. 2 Hand Touch took off from the opening ‘bell’ and never looked back. Animal.
Always an honor! BC
