Naked Man Moleskin
Today is my first born 2.0 birthday & as you know well by now she turns 8 today. My daughter is special for so many reasons but for my M & I we truly appreciate her b/c she almost did not happen. My M & I battled infertility for about 2.5 years before God blessed us with this opportunity. Still one of the most challenging, humbling, & rewarding experiences I have ever been through. The anticipation/high of each test followed by the lows of “it didn’t work” each time & as a problem solver there was nothing I could do to take away the pain & then the ultimate joy of the news of the pregnancy. On Weds Tiny Bubbles lead a discussion around prayer & he asked the group if anyone had the moments in their life which answers the “What-What” question (WHAT will happen when I die & WHAT does that mean about the way I live). No question the birth of my daughter answers the WHAT about the way I live. I strive every day to be a good example to her of what not only a great man should be but a great person: a provider to my family, a shoulder to cry/listen, & just an example for what she should expect of others & how she should carry herself in life. So I will spoil that little 8 year old today by making her doughnuts this morning (which I have never done), pizza this afternoon, brownies tonight & a bunch of presents in between. Men cherish the ones you love b/c like me I hope they answer the second half of that WHAT-WHAT question & are the meaning of the way you want to live your life.
Dear lord thank you for this opportunity to wake up early in the gloom & experience your greatness. We are humbled for the opportunity you give us every day to be in your glory & serve you as leaders in our community. Watch over those that are not as fortunate as many of us & give them healing & strength in their struggles. In your name we pray. Amen!
