Introduction
Blowout tapped me on the shoulder to Q at The Colosseum on a Friday. When a beast like that calls, you have to follow through. And, since it is a Friday, it gives me an excuse to make it a Foo Friday (it’s good to be the Q)! Don’t worry, I plan to take music requests on my next Q. Normally, I’m not much of a “stay in the parking lot” kind of guy and like to explore and run around the AO’s. However, with my limited knowledge of The Colosseum, I looked thru my long list of old posts and found a few that would hopefully challenge the 3S2T template of accelerating the men of F3 Crossroads.
Weather conditions: 41F with a slight breeze, real feel at 37F….that’ll work.

Congratulations to all that made the commitment last night to attend. Some may have had a hard day at work, issues at home or just lack of sleep but you made the decision to not quit on your self or your brothers and you made it out into the gloom. There are times in the morning when the alarm wakes me and I don’t feel like getting up. But after 2.5 years I know that I ALWAYS feel better when I START my day with a workout and being around all you knuckleheads. The voice in my head at 4am is not “sleep more” but “get out there or you’ll regret it the rest of the day”!
Currently reading “Fortitude” by Dan Crenshaw.
“Quitting is a choice. And it is never Plan A. Perseverance is also a choice. It isn’t always easy—but it [the idea] is simple. You tell yourself you won’t quit, and then you don’t quit. Do it in that order. Failure becomes inevitable the moment it is embraced as a possibility. Once you have a Plan B, Plan A goes out the window.”
“Quitting is not the same as failure. Quitting means giving up—in a context where there are other options. Options you know you have.”
Announcements were made and a Hail Mary was said to close out CoT.

- Apologies for not explaining what the 3S2T from my Pre-Blast means. Speed, Strength Stamina, Toughness (physical) and Toughness (mental). It is from Q1.2 King (from Q Source) and is something to keep in mind when planning your Q. I believe we hit all but Toughness (mental) during today’s BC. If we had more time to do three or four total races in Thang #2, I think we would have all experienced the Toughness (mental).
- During Thang #1, I was next to Gopher. I noticed I was just ahead of him the whole time and finished just a few reps before he did. Thought I did well until we started Thang #2 and noticed he was missing. I asked where he was and someone mentioned that he had to take an “emergency #2”. So now I’m wondering if that was slowing him down during Thang #1 (in that case I wasn’t doing too well) or it made him speed up??? All I know is if it happens again, a rare renaming could occur and one of the PAX had a REALLY cool name!!
- Pretty sure Vern completed Thang #1 first…of course!
- Kudos to Better Call Saul and his 2.0, Second City. I love it when a Dad can show his son how to handle being accountable, being uncomfortable, doing something hard and being around a bunch of solid HIMs.
- I wanted all to FINISH Thang #1. Multiple times PAX answered the call and picked up the 6. Awesome (and important) thing to behold.
Always a pleasure! -Twilight
