Introduction

‘Twas the Night before Christmas and only on Slack

Men were committing to getting that elusive 6 pack

The compression socks were hung by the chimney at last,

In hopes that Cousin Eddie soon would pre-blast

The PAX were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of bear crawls danced in their heads;

When suddenly there arose such a sound

That I jumped from my bed to see what could be found.

Away to the window I ran all you got,

Wondering who could be out in the nearby lot..

When, what to my wondering eyes should I see

But a group of eight men and the Q, CE.

To the untrained they looked like they were playing a game

But in cadence, he shouted, and called them by name;

“Now, Goldberg! now, Leuben! now, Bob Ross and Muggsy!

On, Twilight! on, Zima! on, Nacho and Sulley!

To the top of the hill! Give it your all!

Now dash away! dash away! Get those balls to the wall”

Tomorrow is run club at the Iron Lion AO

We’ll mosey through the neighborhoods, bro.

So after you’re finished sipping your grog.

Come join me as we do a Holly Jolly Jog.

It will be a blast without any bull.

Happy Christmas to all, and the shitter is full

HC in the thread.

The Scene:  So I almost completely fartsacked early Iron Lion.  Arrived super late.  Weather was unseasonably warm so I was overdressed in my orange hoodie.  The Early Iron Lion crew left after COT.  Then the run club HCs started to roll in.  Sulley was first.  Followed by Road Trip and Chihuahua from La Luz.  Sam Walton and Archie rounded out the six pack of PAX.

Holly Jolly Jog

Run through the nearby neighborhoods looking for lit decorations.  Mumblechatter encouraged.

Since it was Chihuahua’s first time, I thought to take a quick mosey around the AO so that he could see the fields, the bridges, the hill and the high school.  We stopped briefly in the high school parking lot and then ran up to route 53 and over to one of the houses lit up.  We kept going down route 53 to Main St. to see the house with a blow up X-Wing complete with an inflated R2-D2.  We then circled back to the flags for some stretching.  We ended about 15 minutes early.  Merry Christmas!

Prayers

Prayed for all those that may be feeling lonely this time of year that they have someone to talk to.

Prayed for all our brothers and their families that have recently contracted Covid.

Took 20 seconds to pray silently to your higher power.

Christmas is my favorite time of year.  We have a tradition on Christmas Eve where we exchange presents with our family, eat takeout (usually Chinese but this year went with Italian) and then drive around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights.  On Christmas morning, we open presents from Santa, eat cinnamon rolls, sausage and watch the Disney Christmas Day parade.  I hope all of you also have traditions that you are able to do year after year and that you hold them close to your heart.  Cherish this time if you have little ones.  Time goes by so fast.  One Christmas you’re up until 3am building a Barbie Dream House and then the next is an Ipad for your teenager.

As we enter this new year, set a goal for yourself.  It doesn’t have to be big.  At the beginning of this year I set a goal to Q at least once a week for this calendar year.  I have one more week to go.  Find something that you need to improve and set a small goal to help you achieve it.  I’m not sure what to set for next year.

Peace,

Cousin Eddie
