Bedpan gave me his HC earlier in the week and asked if I wanted to do an EC Ruck before the bootcamp. It’s been quite some time since we did an EC Ruck, so why not. I’m a creature of habit and I typically do an EC run before bootcamp, so I had to squeeze in a quick two miles before the 6am EC Ruck. PreBlast went up fairly early in the day, but there weren’t that many HCs by later afternoon. Bedpan started to get antsy and started messaging people about placing their HC. It’s pretty typical for the BP folks to wait until later in the day or just before the bootcamp.
It was Friday night and I still hadn’t settled on the final plan. Time to look through the Exicon for a thang or two. Found something then I thought about how I could modify something we did earlier in the year. Ready to roll.
Woke up Saturday morning about 4:50, got ready and headed out the door. As I returned to the parking lot after the EC Run, I was greeted by Super 8, that was a nice surprise. He showed up to get some rucking in. Impossible Burger and Bedpan joined to knock out 3+ miles. We had about 15 minutes left before the 7am bell. I was ready to run over to the porta-john but that plan was thwarted by the porta-john service company. Time to get moving…

“Bataan Death March”
Two groups, approximately 1 mile, and 5 burpees for each PAX at the back of the line before sprinting to the front. Both lines kicked ass and finished fairly quickly. Quick enough that they earned an extra 5 minutes of Thang 2.
Headed to the pavilion area with our coupons. This thang will included 3 burpees every minute on the minute (EMOM). In between the burpees that PAX did the following exercises.
- Big-boy Sit Ups
- Rocky Balboas
- Turkish Get Ups
The above exercises were repeated 4 times. 57 burpees in between.
Elevens on the Black Panther Hill
Shoulder Presses at the bottom and Squat Jumps at the top. Many came close to finishing these before Mary.

Circle of Trust
The PAX that were present had many things on their minds this morning. We prayed for Wet Wipe, his M and his family as they cope with loss of his M’s father. We asked for prayers for Mr. Miyagi’s family as they mourn the passing of his M’s mother. We prayed for Sonny Bono’s nephew, Vern, and Curtis. They are all battling COVID-19 and they are in need of healing. We also asked for prayers that Curtis will join us in the gloom some day. We also prayed for the Levine family as they grieve the loss of a father and husband at an early age. Please look over this family. Amen.

In the PreBlast I had posted a quote from Ray Lewis. He said, “If you ain’t pissed off for greatness, then that means you’re OK with being mediocre.” I thanked the men for coming out and being great. Each and everyone pushed through a not so easy bootcamp. We do not settle for being mediocre. Mediocre does not help you accelerate.
