@channelIt’s been a week of burners at IL and I plan to keep it going :muscle:! We will be moving about the AO on both pavement and grass. I’ll bring the :fire:, you bringCoupon

And lots of :heart:HC in the :thread: :point_down:.

I woke up early and got to the site at 4:45 to set up. I dropped my coupon by the usual location for the flags and drove to the HS to setup, including making sure that the crossbars on the football field were dry. I left my car by the HS to keep my speaker warm and then moseyed back to the flags. It was 5:10 and the PAX were getting out of their cars. I greeted the PAX, including the FNG.

5:15 came quickly and it was time to go!

 

Warm-O-Rama

Arm circles (f/b) – IC – 10 each

Rifle carry the coupons to the South goal line of the high school football field. We stopped on the way to do 10 SSH – IC.

Put down our coupons and started to mosey the path around the high school. We stopped four times before returning to the coupons to do the following exercises:

First stop – Motivators from 7 – IC

Second stop – Shoulder tap merkins – 15 – IC

Third stop – top of the hill – Merkins – IC – 10

Fourth stop – the goal posts at the North end of the football field. Hand walk across the goal posts. If you drop early, do 5 merkins. SSH while waiting to start or after you stop. Switched to holding squat as the last PAX were on the cross bar.

Mosey back to the coupons on the South goal line.

The Thang

Thang 1 – All about the Benjamins

25 curls – together – Speaker City called out the cadence

Walking lunges with coupons – 25 yards

Repeat 3x with chest press, shoulder press and coupon squats. The cadence was called out by Sulley, Cousin Eddie and Mellencamp.

Thang 2 – Leave the coupons and mosey to the stage.

Do the following 45s on/15s rest

Bobby Hurleys, Flutter kicks, Calf raises, LBC’s, Apollo Ono’s, American Hammers

Run the 1/4 mile loop around the stage area and return to the coupons.

Carry your coupons back to the flags in any manner you wish.

Recover, Recover!

Circle of Trust

Usually I plan my Q’s a few days in advance; however, this time I had planned it a few weeks ago when I signed up for the Q. As I attended workouts at IL on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, I started to wonder if it was too similar to the other workouts and it might be a good idea to change it up.

After reflecting on this idea, I concluded that I would stick with my original plan and then make changes on the fly if necessary. I knew the PAX could handle the physical part of the workout, it was the mental aspect that would be challenging and that we needed to push through the mental challenge together. Remember that the body can do more than the mind believes it can. We need to train our mind to keep pushing.

As leaders, it is our responsibility to help others push through the mental challenge; while remembering that it is we are also responsible for reading the room and adjusting as necessary.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks to the PAX that braved the cold this morning and Mellencamp for having the 6. It felt colder than it was as it was a 30F+ drop from the 60F it was yesterday morning. As result, I tried to keep us moving the entire time and limit the time spent explaining the next Thang.
