I shared with the PAX how I caught “The Captain” after the Home Run Derby the night before. It’s a documentary on the life and career of Derek Jeter. Jeter said something that really resonated with me in the very beginning.
He talked about how he grew up in Michigan and how exciting it was to walk in the League League parade every year. How the whole town came out to support, his parents especially. And then he said, “You know, as a kid, it always felt like I was doing something important.”
Man.
Imagine that. Imagine a community, parents, coaches, etc showing so much love and support that it could inspire just one kid to feel he/she is doing something important.
That’s powerful stuff right there gentlemen. It’s the stuff we as F3 leaders can give back too. Whether or not we are a parent, a co-worker, a family member, a friend, etc…make someone feel that what they are doing is important.
You never know how it can inspire someone . For Jeter, he went on to win 5 world series, 3,000+ hits and a hall of fame baseball career.
Prayers.

Shout out to Serena and Glenn logging some EC miles and hitting a sub 7 minute pace on the way in. (Even though old man Serena told me to turn my music down) Glenn told me he racked up 53 miles last week as he’s training for the Lakefront Marathon in Milwaukee in early October. What are you training for?
