Introduction

Tomorrow we are going to honor U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo who died on June 24, 2010 in service to our country. No coupons necessary. We will be on the pavement the whole time. HC in the thread.

The Scene:  66 degrees and clear. Awesome. I woke up at 4. Then again at 4:15. Better get moving. Of course, the “sh*tter” was full so that set me back so I was out the door by 4:55. Arrived at Iron Lion at 5am and started to set up: Flags posted at the far end. Cones placed 200 meters apart. Coupon tower with laptop on top.  Loredo written out in chalk on both sides of the parking lot. 5:13 ready to greet the PAX.

Left side – Curb before turn to the first parking spot at the other end

Right side – end to end.

This workout is in memory of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo, 34, of Houston, Texas, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, who was killed on June 24, 2010 in Jelewar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He is survived by his wife, First Sergeant Jennifer Loredo; his daughter, Laura Isabelle; his stepdaughter, Alexis; and his son, Eduardo Enrique.

Back in March, the guy that was running the MABA challenge posted about Sgt. Loredo’s wife, Jennifer and how she wanted everyone to do this workout on this day.  So I hopped on the Q sheet and slapped my name on today’s Q.  These workouts are always a good barometer of where you are and to help set a goal of where you want to be.

Baby Hands pointed out last week that June is Men’s Mental Health awareness month. I came to a realization last week while on vacation and that is that I have anxiety. Anxiety to the point that it can and has affected my physical well being. One of the things I realized that was causing me great anxiety was post counting. I was obsessed with it. As I said last week, I had to be the highest or at least stay with the highest post counter and if I was going to miss a post, I was going to sacrifice anything to somehow still get in that post. That was stupid. It doesn’t matter. It took some serious downtime, by choice and not by choice, to realize how much anxiety F3 was giving me. So, I’m dialing it back, and I’m not going to worry about that part anymore. What’s important is being out here with all of you and lifting each other up to be the best versions of ourselves.

Let us pray an Our Father and take the time to really think about the words we are speaking.

Peace,

Cousin Eddie
