Introduction

5:15am Storytime @ The Complex: “If you show up to run club be prepared to run.”

  1. Legend has it that the year was 2021 and a certain HIM’Eh fart sacked his RC Q at TC. As the headlights rolled into the lot and the pax gathered in a circle like penguins protecting their eggs, the Q was nowhere to be seen. A nervousness settled over the crowd and chatter ensued. Some PAX asked “Where is he?”, “Should we cancel, eh?” while others suggested, “screw it, let’s go to coffeteria!”. Perhaps that would have been the way out if YHC was SQ that day. Fortunately, or some would later say unfortunately, there was one man, a certain SQ that day that was laughing on the inside; he was prepped and loaded with a replacement Thang, something both grizzly and divine, and he had been waiting for a day just like this to shine. See, the SQ knew what was about to happen; pax would run and :lungs: would bleed, but he lived by the motto (direct quote from the legend):

“If you show up to run club be prepared to run.”

The SQ that day was @Magellan and tomorrow morning we will pay homage to this F3 SQ treasure by reenacting that famous RC workout which here forward will be known as:

Magellan’s Elcano Circumnavigation’Eh

Wear running shoes..duh…and bring a bandaid for your lungs.

Warm-O-Rama

25 SSH

Buttkickers from light pole to light pole

High knees from lp to LP

open Hips,

Jog long way around to T intersection (.24 mile mozy)

 

 

 

 

 

The Thang

  1. Split into 2 groups (fast and faster) Indian run from T intersection on path to Knock Knolls (1 mile)
  2. Partner up and sprint relays. 1st sprint all the way down to end of parking lot and back, come back and partner goes. Next time, sprint around half way point of parking lot. Finished off with 4 long and 4 short sprints.
  3. Line up and 5 sprints half way down the parking lot.
  4. Indian run back to knoch knolls in two groups.
  5. Fartlek around lot (3 sides jog, 1 side sprint).
  6. Stretch for 3 minutes. 6:00

Circle of Trust

Always be prepared as Magellan was that day. Preparation, like we have recently done with CPR with Stay Puft, is all you can do. You never know how stuff is going to happen in life. Pray for Hotbox, Cardinals Family and my Cousin.

Tough workout and if not for these men, YHC would have never made it back to TC lot on the second indian run. Love seeing traditionally non runners like @LongStory and Wine In Box showing up and pushing it! Also loves seeing faster guys Like Mia Hamm and Glenn coming out to help push the rest of us.
