Introduction

I pulled together the workout for today earlier in the week, but as I usually do, I modified the workout the night before.  As I looked over the small number of HC’s the Holy Hill was receiving and given the fact that I still had all the pavers in my car from last week’s Q where I used them, I thought….why not incorporate the pavers into the workout.  So my original plan of doing a 4 corner workout with descending reps was amped up to include all exercises at each corner to always use the pavers and running between corners with the pavers.  Essentially, hauling around the pavers for 35 minutes.  The plan was set.

I got up at 4:30 and headed over to Holy Hill to set up.  It was a nice 32 degrees with little wind.  I wrote out the exercises at the 4 corners and waited for the troops to arrive.  Cars slowly started to roll into the parking lot and as PAX exited their cars and went to grab the coupons, I informed them they did not need them, that I had a substitute for them – which was met with mixed emotions.

Bets were placed if Enron would arrive on time, and we all had to check our watches as we saw him roll in with 3 minutes until go time.  Sonny Bono, however, came in hot, but just in time for Thang 1.  When 5:15 hit, it was time to get the party started.

Although it did not seem all that cold, I underestimated how cold one’s fingers get when the are wrapped around the cold pavers for 35 minutes – probably restricting blood from reaching the finger tips.  I found myself having to stop and shake some blood into them and the final run at the end felt nice as the blood began to flow again.

Going into this Q, I reminded myself not to completely zip my jacket pocket, which carried my phone in one pocket and an nano speaker in the other, because the last time I Q’d the zipper in one of the pockets became jammed and it took me 10 minutes after the workout to get it unstuck.  Well, chalk it up to old age, but as we began the workout, yup sure enough, I zipped up my pocket that held my phone and it once again became stuck.  Not a big deal, except whenever I hit the ground on the HR Merkins the music skipped.  I tried multiple times to get it unstuck, to no avail.  When I got home, i tried for another 5 minutes to get the zipper unstuck, but then gave up and ended up having to cut a hole in the pocket to get my phone out so I could actually do work today – given my authentication goes through the phone.  Good way to start the day.

All men crushed it today, as that was not an easy workout.  Until next time.
