We only did a handful of things. Runk and PT. Copyright pending from Ebenezer. I wanted to focus on getting in some distance with the rucks, so covering ground quickly was the priority.
PT variations included:
Merkins, Squats, Bear Crawl at bridge 1 and lunges at bridge 2. Two Runk sprints up the big hill followed by hip bridges after the second run. Watch showed 3.15 miles covered, but would need confirmation.
The hill by the bridge next to the baseball fields are now known as “Dorn’s Dunes”.

You have two choices for my COT. Would you like me to speak about forgiveness, or finances?
Aye for forgiveness? Aye for finances?
Well, I’m sorry to those of you that are looking for me to talk about forgiveness. I’m talking about finances. How many of your resolutions starting on Jan 1 have to do with saving, or giving more? I find that most resolutions revolve around fitness, or relationships. Granted, all noble pursuits. However, I encourage all of you to look at your personal balance sheet. The other 3 F’s. Family, Fitness and Finances. Oddly, they are all connected. You can pay yourself first to protect your family while putting a plan in place to give it forward at the same time. Every bit helps charities these days and you’ll sleep better knowing that your finances are secure. Please kindly make this a priority and never lease the “so called” good life. Those hills are paid with fool’s gold.

I was hesitant to address this topic in my COT, but it worked out as I had planned. I think I only received one to two Aye’s to talk about finances for my COT. This helped prove my point. Talking about finances is tough and no one really wants to discuss this topic. I believe this is where the problem starts. Mellencamp provided me with some interesting stats post COT. The national savings rate is 2% of income. Pre Great Recession in 2008 it was -.6%. Japan is a positive 32% of income. Right now, only 2% of current retirees can retire on $40k of income or more a year, including social security. Therefore 98% of people are not prepared and don’t have enough income in retirement. Scary stuff, but this does not have to be anyone’s future. I always say that a goal without a plan is just a wish. Now is a good time with 2021 in sight to make that plan.
I wish my COT was as fluent as I rehearsed. I just started wearing readers and the damn things fogged up immediately and I lost track of my notes a couple of times. Not horrible, but not as prepared as I would have liked.

WiaB runked today with a 45lb. plate. I was concerned, but Goldberg reminded me that I had warned him and that his blood was not on my hands. Kidding aside, he crushed it as always.
Sulley lit up the hill sprints with Nosejob. He is definitely turning into a monster.
I believe Bootlegger called my mother a bunch of names and threatened me with bodily harm more than once. We always hurt the ones we love the most. Keep pressing brother. You are a different animal these days!
Ebenezer questioned my Mary song. That was “The Sound of the Siren” brother.
Baby Hands told me that he would remember this one while holding a sledge hammer. I guess that means the rent was paid today.
